Ume is an exaggeration of the dominant girl archetype just like everything in anime is. If you think about it, no one is really that beta when it comes to MCs or that submissive when it comes to moeblobs, but you guys are so accustomed to those archetypes that you forgot that they are all exaggerations. The dominant girl archetype is not as popular as those two so when a girl like Ume comes in the picture, you guys complain at how bad and violent she is when she's just as "bad" as all the other archetypes. If you like strong girls, you like Ume's addition into the cast.

Ume sexually abuses Hana, and did the same to Shaga when she got too close to Hana. She stripped Satou in front of his class and made him cry like a baby. She regularly beats up Satou and sent him and Sen anonymous death threats. I guess she's supposed to be funny, but she isn't. She goes far beyond the standard "Don't touch me you pervert! (slap)" stuff you normally get from tsunderes, she's an all-out crazy bitch and we never get that satisfying moment where she gets shown up. In the LNs, Orthrus beats her ass and she's forced to admit Satou would be better for Oshiroi. The anime doesn't have that scene, so she just exists as a cancer in the lives of the characters. That's why /a/ hates Ume-sama. Gender politics don't enter into it.
