Why aren't you watching Kakegurui right now?
I can't stand Kaiji for its animation. It makes me want to drive a horsecock up my rectum. I couldn't watch more than a minute of that damn anime.
Maybe that's superficial though and I'll give it a try again.
I'm in the middle of serial experiments lain. This show is a mindfuck. How could someone have predicted the future so well???
I mean, other than the terminology it's like watching a show from ten years in the future made twenty years ago.
>he doesn't like long nose carcitures and prefers generic hentai face
>Kaiji invented rock paper scissors variants
>quickly passing from "games" to a single game
If you actually watched any of these shows instead of regurgitating ecelebs opinions you would know they are nothing alike.
nice try kaijifaggot http://goboiano.com/japans-20-must-watch-summer-2017-anime-at-the-midpoint/
also why are you posting literally whos ?
I dropped Saki because the Mahjong wasn't good, I am not watching this because people said the gambling is bad and I literally see nothing posted about the show except exaggerated reaction images and lewds.
It looks boring. I just hang around these threads for more pictures of their funny faces
I'm only going to watch the next episode because it'll feature the best boy, after that we have garbage yuri towers.
>the same dude who claims Re:Creators will be the current day equivalent of Cowboy Bebop
>the same dude who claimed Kemono Friends will be a massive flop, commercial and fanbase wise
>the same dude who claims Oreimo and Ero-Manga Sensei were expertly crafted romcom to perfection
You need to kill yourself. Like, literally. This dude is wrong every damn time he opens up his Canadian mouth.
is there any reason to watch this other than girls and epic faces? haven't tried it yet but all the images posted right now just look like epic faces and people say the gambles are shit.
It's pretty on the nose, but I cannot argue with the results. Excellent post.
The gambles are shit in the sense that there's not much tension. The gambles to me feel more like background for the exchanges between characters, which is what I personally enjoy about it.
I agree the gambles are basically there for fluff to allowed interactions between other characters and show the extreme sides of themselves. It's entertaining to somewhat watch on on the first try, but to repeatably see it is another story. The only thing the manga is really good for is it's art and fan-service. The anime for the voice actors and the fan-service as well.
Serial Experiments Lain is exactly the kind of "deep" and "cerebral" anime that makes 14 year old kids think they're a philosophical genius.
Just because something is slow doesn't mean it's patient, and hard to understand doesn't mean it's smart.
>and hard to understand doesn't mean it's smart
This actually a pretty established technique in literature especially the one made for young adults. Make things a bit complicated on purpose but give enough clues, so when the reader figures it out, he feels a false sense of accomplishment. Making your reader feel smart is very effective method of pandering.
It does get kinda boring seeing how Yumeko reacts to everything in nearly the same way, and how everyone reacts to her craziness in nearly the same way, namely in the first 3 episodes. This is partly why I liked the Kaede arc the most, since he seemed to be so unfazed throughout the gamble. The manga right now seems to be focusing on Mary as well, which is appreciated.
She just wants to play her gaimus
Why can't we have a good thread for once?
Why are Kaiji nerds so salty about this show?
Do you do that shit when someone mentions One Outs too?
Like that ever happens sadly.
Because every thread is infested with MALfags, ESL, and anime-onlys begging for subs. It'll reach peak shitposting once these idiots find out the last 'gamble' is just a spinning tower.
>having to think about the story in order to understand it proves you are dumb
>unlike myself, a CGDCT masterrace, heh
The threads have been bad from day 1.
reminder that your literally who anime with wierd art style will never be as popular as kakegurui
You're both retarded. Kaijifags and shitposters are desperate enough to keep saying the same shit after 9 episodes and even use a video of a cunt who makes the comparison completely invalid with his damage control at the end, while all the other twats keep catching the bait. I know where we are, but can't we just enjoy the show and ignore the shitposters?
I read the manga.
It's shit but perverted girls doing risky things is fun enough to read until the plot becomes so dumb as to be unreadable.
An anime seems like it would be fucking hell to watch, who the fuck could stomach having to sit through 20 fucking minutes of this garbage.
Only use for it is to skip for the bits where they start going nuts. Which is fun enough I guess.
I fucking hope nobody actually thinks this is a good series.
Man, the airing of this anime brought in so many cancerous animeonlyfags and ironic "weebs" from youtube. Is this how it's going to be from now on?
Thanks! The idol arc is good, but the best part is that it leads to the treasurer arc and then the tower of doors. This is like, the best part of Kakegurui, at least until the latest game.
I feel like I should be calling hum MANyuda instead of just Manyuda since he looks( and sounds) like he's a based guy trying to accomplish something great
And I'm not saying that because he's the only guy that has a power level in this show full of scary women.
>M-Muh HIGH ROAD
Kaede talks a big game but really he's just a little bitch with daddy issues.
>too bad girls don't watch this show
Yuri has a majority female audience so there are probably more female than male Kakegurui fans out there. Likely the reason why Netflix snatched it. Netflix is serving a normie audience after all. You can't go only after 18-24yo basement dwellers. You need to serve some yuri like Kakegurui and LWA for the ladies too.
Just visit /u/ sometime. Yuri being geared towards men is baseless prejudice. Yuri attracts a lot of queer women. Add them to the straight female yuri fans and they outnumber the men. Both Yaoi and Yuri are therefore female dominated. Women are simply more open to queer contents in general. Men are more likely to stick to heteronormative haremshit.
Netflix picking this was pretty interesting, it's not gamble. They don't pick random shit. Supposedly they use BIG DATA and INTELLIGENT ALGORITHMS to do all their decisions.
For all their BIG DATA INTELLIGENT ALGORITHMS™®© they are still too fucking stupid to simulcast their acquired anime when they air. I can only wonder how many people who would pay for Netlfix services just say "fuck it" and go pirate Kakegurui instead. I mean, waiting till next year to release it? Really? That's just begging to ignore them altogether.
>Author showing how pathetic idolfags are.
Oh man this is hilarious.
The fact that you believe this is cute. Most /u/fags are just sad guys pretending to be lesbians.
They glossed over the fact she ripped up a fan's letter and faked her crying apology so they actually got off a little better in the anime.
Yeah, it's also quite blatant how they are using the same "people talking with each other", "character moving" and "character having hair" tropes like Kaiji did.
Still waiting on my experts on this one, so take it with a grain of salt:
They might even be speaking the same language!
>using meme buzzwords on /a/
The fact that nobody except me has called out this piece of shit in an entire hour is all the proof you need to realize this board has gone to shit because of tumblrtrash and redditors flooding it without push-back.
It's just incredibly shallow, cliché, and try-hard edgy for the sake of it.
>Aha look at these girls they're all CRAZY isn't that super cool? Please enjoy these forced epic facial expressions!
It's a cringefest with no redeeming quality story-wise, voice-acting-wise, music-wise, artstyle-wise nor animation-wise. It doesn't seem to be going anywhere. 4/10 at best.
>taking any of the social science bullshit seriously
The majority of psychology papers are hogwash and not reproducible. Go fuck off with your armchair pseudoscientific babble. I despise people like you the most.
Makes more sense for american series, so they aren't competing with the network. With anime there is much less overlap between native tv viewers and foreign streamers. That being said, it seems rare enough to do that perhaps the studios aren't into shipping the episodes earlier so that americans can have them subbed by the air date.
I'd rather have more options for legal raws than subs.
They didn't show the ed this week so I went back and watched the one from ep08.
>If you want good threads go see New Game! or Princess Principal threads.
Because I've already watched the anime up to current twice, as well as re-read the manga up to current twice. I just need more eps. senpai.
>not checking both
There's been some stuff that's present on only one of the two, whichever one it is.
Pantsu has some exclusives, like WaSuYu, and dememeified Commie subs for Symphogear. When there are subs. Please sub our show, big strong gaijin.
Don't you think they made Yumeko a bit TOO hot?
Yumeko a shit
now pic related is the real beauty
but I do and Yumeko is literally my wife
it's a little unfair toward other best girls
What do you even call girls like this? She's not a yandere by a long shot, but she's still pretty twisted. I love it.
I'm no fan of idolshit, but rotoscoped Yumeko, hnnngg
>wanting the fat pig to win
No one would be sad if you disappeared, anon.
>hayamin-voiced idol antics
This is what real fans are.
>Why aren't you watching Kakegurui right now?
Is new episode out?
There are likely a few translation mistakes in some side dialogues that I didn't get right (most likely a couple of announcer lines because of the slurr) but nothing that would impact or change the meaning of the main "story" dialogues. I just hope the grammar and spelling are better this time around.
Yeah it's out.
Nonstop newlywed gambling
>if you don't cum in 5 minutes of blowjob you get to fuck me
>you have 3 shots, if you impregnate me I lose
>if I lose, you have unlimited attempts for the second kid
Reminds me of SNK
I did watch a bit. I couldn't find anything interesting about it. Everyone is a hot chick but also completely insane. Let me guess, the loli has a dark, cruel side to her and the president is a stoic "doesn't see people as human" terminator?
How fucking original. Maybe 10 years ago that would have been a hit.
She is already thinking 80 moves ahead. Is she a Demon?
Not quite. She has shit taste for men
Maybe someone better than me can shoop this
SILENT THIS SIDE SILENT THIS SIDE SILENT THIS SIDE SILENT THIS SIIIIIIIDE
>all of the characters that try to fuck her over lose and somehow manage to get redeemed and not get fucked over too badly themselves so far
Is this the
Kakegurui is nothing like Kaiji. I initially started reading/watching Kakegurui because I was hoping for something similar to Kaiji. It's nothing like Kaiji, or even Akagi, and if you're going to recommend this show (or not recommend it), you shouldn't be mentioning Kaiji except to explain to someone how they're not at all the same thing.
Kaiji is a psychological thriller based closely around gambling. The mechanics of the gambles are very important to the plot, character's decisions, etc. Figuring out the tricks ahead of time is very often possible, so in some aspects the show's roots lie in detective novels. Background themes mostly about power imbalances in society, especially w/r/t how deeply they affect those at the very bottom.
Kakegurui is almost more like a battle shonen with gambling as its gimmick, although this is a slightly unfair way of describing it. There's no real tension in most of the games and most tricks are total asspulls, but this isn't necessarily the draw of the show. The setting is a school for (mostly) rich kids with all their material needs met, and the show's themes focus on bullying, addiction/mental illness, and unhealthy tribal social dynamics. There's a shitload of S&M themed fanservice and this is quite a large portion of the show's draw, along with the over-the-top animation.
Kakegurui is much more similar to Kill la Kill than it is to Kaiji.
Kaiji is much more similar to One Outs than it is to Kakegurui.
Comparing them is comparing shows from wildly different genres with coinciding plots. It's comparing One Piece with Vinland Saga because they're both about seafaring marauders. It's fair to accuse Kakegurui of being "missing" a chunk of substance, though, since there's no reason it couldn't ALSO have the solid mechanical core Kaiji and Akagi have. IMO Kaiji is the better show, but Kakegurui is perfectly enjoyable for different reasons. Just turn your brain off :^)
They either cut the explanation from this episode or it should be in the next one.
Basically he didn't care who wins. If Yumeko wins then he gets less competition in the council. If Yumemi wins then he gets a credit in defeating the unbeatable Yumeko (because he organized this event).
this whole thread can be summed up as
this one youtuber said Kakegurui is bad, so i like Kaiji better now, maybe i'll watch Kaiji someday, but before i do that let me give """""""""my""""""""" opinion on a Mongolian war discussion forum
member when the manga threads use to reach limit and /u/ would cross boards to flip shit if you mentioned it had any yuri elements?
TL;DR anime only are brainlets
and fucking Sheeple
They probably left it for next week. Speaking of, ending the episode with Yumeko using her public match rights but not Kaede's reaction was such a weird decision.
Sumeragi is fired.
Nothing happens to Yuriko or Midari or Yumemi.
Kaede is fired and enters a coma.
Sayaka becomes even gayer than before.
It's a perfect example of how fans in general behave. The delusion, the love for being used, the blind support, everything.
I haven't seen an anime getting what being a fan is better than that, proving once again that a)idols have the highest potential for narrative and b)idols anime are fundamentally sports anime more than "real" sports anime are.
This is subtly hinted at during this episode, given the fact that Yumeko just gets on stage and sings and dances with her without having any training whatsoever and the audience eats it up.
You don't need a YouTuber's opinion to know Kaiji is better.
do you walk into every mexican restaurant you find and proceed to tell everyone talking about the food they are eating, how much better italian food is, just because it is.
or do you just enjoy not reading before you post.
Kageguruji will never be anything close to what Fukumoto has drawn, i just find the amount of people """""""noticing """"""" their similarities suspicious
Jabami Yumeko is a miracle of the universe
Thats natural and normal
>watch a show where everyone is a bitch
>complain about a character being a bitch
(on the bottom)
Just read up to date on the manga after this episode. Thoughts:
1) Best boy has the most careful plans and well thought out strats, a reasonably decent conclusion to the gamble, and by far the most enviable fate of anyone in the show
2) The tower gamble is incredibly bad in every way. You're almost instantly able to guess roughly what the trick is, and nothing interesting happens with the characters. If they end the series with it it's gonna be awful, they should've just ended with Matsuya's gamble and used the tower as a quick prologue for season 2. At this point my only hope is that for whatever reason they decide to play a trick and have the tower be different in the anime from the manga, maybe to give readers a nice surprise, with the side effect of fixing an insanely dull part. Some of the weaker gambles so far I'd rate a 5/10 but tower is rock bottom 1/10 shit, it's not even exciting enough that I'd consider there to be an aspect which "ruined" it, the whole thing's shit. The final jump was nice I suppose but it was also a cop-out which they shouldn't have set up in the first place like that
I'm interested to hear if anyone liked this arc and if so what their reasons are
3) Adding a ton of new characters like that felt stupid, but I guess it's a problem caused by the medium and the way the manga industry works - for what it was, the giant character injection happened pretty smoothly and convincingly, so I'll actually put that as a point in its favour. New arc is neat and it's cool to see Suzui gamble, looking forward to seeing if the plot eases him into actually gambling properly without just being a lump for Mary/Yumeko to manipulate in a team gamble. It'd be nice to see him scrape through surviving with Kaiji-style gambles in contrast to the ultra-powerful Akagi-style setups we typically see for Yumeko.
>not accepting the desu and the senpai
>not directly typing dese and senpai
Baka senpai desu
I'll desu your baka, Senpai. Does that make up for it?
I liked the tower bit. It wasn't about the game, Kakegurui is never about that. Yumeko winning was never in doubt but it was some abstract bounding between her and the prez, which made it worth it. It wasn't great by any means but way cooler than the first gamble with the revolver lesbian.
Though I agree that they should end season 1 after the plans boy game and Yumeko and prez having their starring contest.
As for the arc afterwards, it'll probably be a lot better at anime pace. Though I really couldn't care less about Suzui or Mary gambling. Neither character is really interesting but at least Mary is slowly going there.
They're very different anime. They both have gambling central to them, but Kaiji's themes about the life of ordinary, and shitty, people in Japan transcends gambling. Kakegurui is a fun visual spectacle with hot girls. I enjoy both immensely.
Because it's a boring perv-bait piece of shit with no actual content, no real stakes and characters so flat that Danganronpa's cast in comparison seems like it's been taken from a Dostoyevsky's book. At least that's how I see her.
I would say it's clever in that the games are varied and the wins come with explanations. Yumeko has to see through the opponent's cheat and reverse-trap them.
>and people say the gambles are shit
Depends on what metric you're judging by. The gamble mechanics are varied, complex, and logical. But Yumeko has no fear, and you can pretty much always count on her to outsmart the opponent. You can either look forward to how she pulls it off for different games and enjoy the opponent's squirming, or you can complain that she's too invincible to build tension.
How did she do it?
She seems to have super roll control. Kinda like her super weight sense to distinguish between a loaded and unloaded revolver.
im not even an amerifat terrorist but im pretty sure most people would notice that
imagine a pill container, after eating some sooner or later you realize it doesnt weight the same anymore
that's not best boy and future prime minister of japan
>why is this allowed.jpg
looks like someone is rejecting the high road
