I think it's pretty obvious Saitama has been granted his strenght by God, just like the monsters.
The common thread is Obsession. All monsters were normal humans obsessed with something, and their monster form is the materialization of their obsession. Saitama was obsessed with becoming the strongest hero. That was everything to him, and trained for years just for that. Bang and others may have trained their whole life, but they weren't Obsessed whith being the strongest motherfuckers ever. They were sane. Saitama underwent a shit training, but focused his whole life on obtaining his strenght. And so God gave him what he wanted. To be the strongest hero.
Why i dunno. But that's what i think.

No. It's pretty obvious it's the total opposite. ONE is pretty straightforward about Saitama in his interviews. He grew by himself, and the whole idea is that he's completely invincible.
