The most frustrating thing about this cheeriosxnina radioactive swamp is that it literally pulls every last sane character inside and mutates them into a state of mental disability. Except that's not true. Please don't even compare the two. Genesis characters had developement and the situations they were being thrown into weren't all that stupid, they were impactful and their impactfulness was properly refpected by the characters. VS is a confused and tonally incoherent mess. This season takes characters who are reasonable and makes them do stupid things to enable drama and it's so transparent it hurts. Rita making that idiotic plan and Favaro not taking Cheerios' arm off when he had no problems taking Kaisar's arm take the cake.

Virgin Souls wastes episode after episode on achieving nothing nothing, going in circles or flat out regressing. Last week's episode achieved nothing and going by the previews nobody seems to mind that nothing has been achieved. It's a colossal waste of time and effort.

Last season we had two people whose lives were ruined by a demon, reconciling their pasts and restoring their friendship. As well as a girl searching for her mother while falling a victim to a manipulative murderous schemer. None of it is trivial or daft and the characters experience steady growth despite the show being extremely fun and mostly light hearted.

This season we have a girl who's just aimlessly bumbling about and un-learning how to be compassionate so she can learn to love a genocidal tyrant and her biggest problem is not being able to dance with him again. The intended dramatic core of Virgin Soul is downright paltry in comparison to Genesis. Nina and Cheerios are both like zombies or drones compared to Kaisar and Favaro. They don't even feel like people and their romance is if you literally took two random strangers off the street and told them to act out a bunch of telenovela cliches. Which is pretty much what happens in the show.
