This. That arc got waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out of hand the whole way through from ninja zombies to ancient fossil being resurrected with plants to spiritual goddess being the true mastermind and final boss. It was a clusterfuck.

>have final villain be Madara from the start to finish, keep Obito dead and never introduce Kaguya
>get rid of Kabuto entirely
>significantly scale down maximum powerlevel
>focus on realistic depiction of children in the midst of war
>make medics more important element and highlight horror of war
>give a lot more time to side characters
>decide from the start whether everyone hated Naruto for his biju or don't really mind it, not dangle in-between only relaying hatred part to no-name crowd

Fix Sasuke's character and hell fix a lot of these damn characters that are masochists for the wrong reasons. If you're going to make the NarutoxHinata pairing add some content throughout the series to make it work. Shippuden barely did this at all you don't even need all that much.

Erase those disgusting filler episodes from the original show there were like 70 of them that added nothing significant to these characters.

After Naruto lost Sasuke's trail the original show was either done or not much else could've been done other than give the side characters more importance and somehow weave their stories into the reconstruction arc. The way the filler episodes played out most of the time we got some attempt at world building but the characters were just carrying out whatever mission was given to them. No growth from any of them and Naruto was acting like he was from the beginning.
