I'm just so annoyed by this iteration of Pokemon because it was clearly inspired by / a reaction to the Yokai Watch boom. The sad thing is that when this atrocity aired the Yokai Watch boom was already done and over with. Pathetic.

During the boom Yokai Watch was completely obliterating Pokemon so they panicked and thought they should copy it. Flavor of the years shouldn't intimidate household names.
