Anime is too random. Manga have not a great plot, but there is a connected series of events to follow.

Sekirei had all the girls sort of be dating the MC, rather than competing to be dating. There was a feeling that they all had healthy relationships, and were going to be together forever.

Sekirei was sort of a checklist on how to make your battle harem not suck. A fully grown MC that's actually useful but doesn't soak up screentime, harem without any will-they-or-won't-they bull, lots of bathing scenes where their tits hang out, etc.
