The problem is that times have changed. I can identify two choke points immediately where over 90% of death note users will get fucked over very fast - the first time they use it to test their powers as chances are they are going to do something stupid and second - getting data on their targets. You are oh so mistaken if you think that googling for a "John Cena" picture is untraceable. All intelligence at your enemy's full disposal has to do is aggregate all IPs/cookies/whatever else we are getting tracked by nowadays that are related in any ways to targets and use dedicated data analytics specialists to narrow all of that down until you get your box hijacked, possibly spied on until enemy understands how you commit your deeds and finally get secured with no traces.

Hence my conclusion - the only ones that have some fleeting chance of living long enough as death note owners are network security specialists. I really wish there was more content that explored this kind of topic.
