There are literally hundreds of examples in anime but you choose the one that doesn't actually fit the profile at all.

And this isn't particularly related to your pic in particular, but I generally disregard anyone who posts comparisons like those because they always

1) Choose an example of good or "good" writing, and a verified classic, to go up against a piece of shit written yesterday that's going to be dropped tomorrow because it's shit. Comparing Tom Sawyer to NGNL is like comparing GitS to Twilight.
2) It's almost always a super-long, involved summary compared to a super simple summary that drops whatever's convenient to make the other media sound good. "Lonely man in fascist state has sex five times and then is brainwashed" sounds like shit too, but people still treat 1984 like a classic (desu I felt it was shit.)
3) Different mediums are suited for different things. If you want a deep, involved and intricate plotline, you're going to find a lot more and a lot better examples with books and some varieties of video games because they have better information density. Movies straight up don't have the time to do the really intricate shit without having multiple sequels, which starts calling in funding questions.

FSN [UBW] threads were full of cancerous and entitled whiners who protested over the smallest chances and never actually discussed, they just kept bringing meta bitching about muh secondaries and muh flawless VN with barely any actual discussion of the episode. Gabriella Ekens, the same person that called the UBW anime a "misshapen adaptive chimera" that only fans of the "Mooniverse" would enjoy. CookingPriest aka Fai, as some people might know his former username. Just ignore him. He is really upset, to put it mildly, about lots of changes and that the BD box didn’t have as many extended scenes as he hoped.

Avoid the MAL forums (and the ANN and maybe even Neogaf ones, too) at all costs. They (and with that I mean him in MAL’s case) are so full of negativity and salt, it’s unbelievable.

Hope Chapman gets a “meh” from me. I don’t know if you were present, when her “VN experience” consisted of a friend streaming Fate on twitch, skipping and skimming large amounts of text and then tearing apart lines which can be interpreted as sexist, but that made me lose my respect for her regarding FSN related material. Her rambling on twitter also struck me as utterly immature . Of course she can’t remember Rin or Shirou were like that in the first episodes if she never even read the VN correctly, so any comparisons (and praising ufotable for “fixing” Shirou and Rin) were just beyond dumb.

She was partially censoring the forums, when she threatened with warnings and bans those, who criticized Gabriella Ekens’ attacks on how misogynist Nasu’s writing is in the first episode reviews, even if it was sometimes completely unwarranted or had nothing to do with the actual episode at all. Besides, there was the general bashing of the source material, as if ufotable had to completely fix everything about FSN. “Reading” Fate is not nearly enough to completely review and compare the anime with the entire VN.

Nasu specifically told ufotable when they decided to adapt UBW “Hey guys, this isn’t Saber’s route, so I just want her to look cute and act like a motherly/guardian-like character”, so that was the reason why I accepted that she wouldn’t get any development. Any reactions or interactions with Shirou and Archer, where her wish and story is referenced and foreshadowed, in the novel, even if there were few, were cut out in the first half.

Then in the second half, they decided in the last three/four episodes to add original scenes to characterize her. It doesn’t feel right to me, it should have happened sooner. It’s kind of like with Ilya in UBW, where relevant character info about her is revealed in a flashback in the episode where she gets killed

Kirei would work if he was played by a black dude but only if it was a black dude with a pretty deep voice.

There is a scene where Kuzuki’s background as an assassin is revealed. In that same scene, the meeting of Caster and Kuzuki is told again from Kuzuki’s perspective. Kuzuki’s entire life felt empty, even when he killed for the first (and final time), but when he met Caster, he finally felt some kind of emotion. It’s actually a flashback.
That scene also fills a gap in the Fate route. Caster attacked Shirou, Saber and Rin at Shirou’s home in the Fate route, but what happened to Assassin and Kuzuki?

They were both at the temple (and Caster was not) when Gilgamesh decided to show up and wreck some chaos. Kuzuki dies in that scene with Caster present, finally feeling something like regret, and Caster turns mad. That is why she attacked Team Saber so suddenly.

Caster gave Kuzuki’s life a meaning. Her death makes it meaningless again. So that suicide run of his in UBW makes sense in my opinion. Well, probably not for people who only watch the anime or only read FSN. You almost learn nothing about Kuzuki in FSN.
