>Earlier this year Bandai bought out other investors for around 2 billion yen
>Were not able to gain paid memberships as planned
>Were not able to survive the intense competition with the US forces in the streaming distribution market
>Japan lost in the competition for the distribution platform, but the attractiveness of the content has no been lost. If we can maintain good relationships with distributors in future, it is possible overseas sales will grow greatly.
How is it that Japan still couldn't manage to win when Daisuki had so many anime rights holders on board? Did they decide to just throw in the towel when Netflix and Amazon started getting involved and it wasn't just the likes of Crunchyroll they were competing with anymore?

Defeated by the power of FREEDOM and burgers.

I didn't even know they still existed until I had recently read an article about their plan to shut down.

I don't understand why they never got any shows though. Their members owned the content. Netflix, Amazon, Crunchyroll and Funi must be paying them a lot if they're willing to let their own company die.

Isn't paid memberships US only as well?

They had a tiny bad library.
ANN released a streaming service and they have more anime than Daisuki, not to mention they have cool stuff like Xabungle and kokkuri-sa
>>161452923
I wonder why though. They had so many investors who owned the actual content but they sold the rights to other companies. Didn't they shoot themselves in the foot?

I'm guessing they prefer to sell shit to other companies and pocket the licencing fees than go through the hassle of trying to get subscriber bucks themselves.

Yeah just seems like a really incompetent half assed attempt at starting a streaming service that was doomed to fail from the start given the attitude displayed.
>>161452192
The only thing I ever watched there was Tsukimonogatari. It was a nice service, though. Free and extremely high quality.

good good

Daisuki had a shit library. Basically nothing to separate them from the rest. Let alone purchase the service.
