I mean, if he didn't care that much, he would really go that far? Or did Gohan just get his name because Goku came back after the birth and asked Chichi to feed him?
I mean, even further than that, Goku brought Gohan with him to meet his friends after so long. If Chichi's not going to let him train, why bother bringing him with? According to all this new information, he really don't give a shit about the boy.

So what, he grew out of it because MUH SAIYAN GENES? How does he grow out of it, and Vegeta grow into it? Isn't that a contradiction?

And in the Buu Saga, he stayed dead specifically because he took Bulma's statement of "people keep showing up to kill you" to heart.
