Why didn't Spike just kill Vicious?

Why didn't Spike just get his artificial eye that sees the past switched with a glass eye?

Because Spike is one of CB's most popular characters and they have as much interest killing off Vicious as ending Spike. Vicious makes money and people eat his shit up, it's in their best personal interest to keep having him whether or not it makes sense or is good writing or plotwise.

There is never any other form of magic in CB and this isn't explained properly.
He's like "I have this magic power" and then the show ends like wtf?
