Except that anime has always been full of shows with magic and superpowers. Even when Tezuka made this shit. Anyone who thinks this only happens in new-ish shows like Code Geass is, frankly, either uninformed or a retard.

Furthermore, the point of the chuunibyou concept is less about the shows themselves and more about how some people in the audience react to them.
