Alternatively you could have the whole Cooler Saga revolve around Future Trunks and have him finish off both Cooler and King Cold, to keep the shock and awe of how powerful Trunks is. Or just have robo-frieza with them and trunks kills him as originally happened, but make him unable to kill Cooler and King Cold

Actually, I quite like. The Future Trunks arc felt like old dragon ball and as much as there are some inconsistences here and there, it's nice.

Animation sucks for most part and you may want to skip the first 28 episodes if you already seen the movies, since they are retellings

Golden Freeza should have been non-gold Freeza with Cooler's fourth form used as a design base. But then they couldn't recolor the toys, so we couldn't possibly do anything so absurd as have a real design.

What always got me with Cooler and Bojack is that the big super powerup is just a transformation they've done before but didn't use until now for some reason.
At least in some it's the Spirit Bomb so it makes sense as to why it's a last resort, but Goku gets slapped around by Cooler while still using the Kaioken for some reason, then beats him with even less effort than he did against Freeza.

Also kind of unrelated, but I found the dub change where Goku goes from apologizing to all of his friends for failing to protect them to going Super Saiyan over a bird dying kind of silly.

It kills me even till this day Garlik Jr got an arc over any other villain.

Honestly, it's not even a bad saga. Underwhelming but not bad. I would have loved to get more filler sagas like that featuring other movie characters than the filler we did end up getting

They weren't movies. They were what if episodes that aired in Japan for fun. US fans however don't understand this and think they were high budget movies and they take it too serious. Just get over it anon-sama.
