Pokemon SM is great sakuga wise. Truly wise of them to go with the new artstyle. As it's a kids show having no shading is a sign it's to be watched by the littlest of children. Referencing works from such staples in the industry as Toei/Miyazaki choice to allude shading as a way of saving money. Kids won't care after all. I don't know how this ended up on /a/ though. I'm praying for OP he's a parent and just saw it as he was walking in the room the exact moment his 5 year old son was watching this episode. I am further supporting my theory by the fact that OP didn't have his own screencap accompanied with this post. Either way it's nice to see parents on /a/.

Nice to see adults capable of acting like respectable parent figures. It doesn't explain the frequent shilling for Toei/Miyazaki though since those threads could only possibly been made by 5 year old children. And I doubt those should be on 4chan let alone anywhere on the internet. But I'm not calling OP a child. If you had noticed I did the opposite. I hope we can have a civil discussion about the sakuga in Pokemon SM. As I'm sure none of us adults have actually seen the Pokemon anime in a solid 10-15 years. A personal favorite of mine:
