Not much would change. The same amount of people would watch but the loudest and most obnoxious sections of the viewer base would change accordingly. Not much changes in syory either, neither Takiya nor Kobayashi are very different from the other.

There is no reason to assume Takiya would have done any of these things. And he would have to do all of them to win the Tohru. So the answer is, nothing would have happened.
