Laugh all you want, but Arc V was easily one of the best Yugioh series, only worse than DM and 5ds. It had lots of funny moments and likable characters, and every episode was more exciting than the one before it. The way it put lots of the fan favorite old characters from the other shows in it only made it even better. The final episode was a bit silly, but the battle with Zarc was nothing short of epic. It should have ended there maybe. Still an amazing show overall, which only makes how boring Vrains is even more painful.

How jaded and wrong can you get? Arc V isn't even close to being the worst, it's not even slightly bad. Crow and Jack were amazing to watch although Kite was boring because Zexal was complete rubbish. Arc-V may have ended poorly but damn if it couldn't leave you or at least me wanting more. Arc-V was over the top.

I know people seemed to hated them but action duel early on were pretty fun to watch, especially when action traps were revealed and could harm your dueling or seeing someone steal a action magic before Yuya could get to it. the environments were getting destroyed and people getting hurt. Yuya's duel with Kacidoki is where action duels should have changed for him entirely. People trying to hurt Yuya from getting them action cards

Vrains right now seems as though it is just climbing up a mountain slowly being as careful and safe as it can. Speed duels to me have no, for lack of a better word, substance. I'm just watching two people playing by Duel Link rules on boogie boards. They don't even or rarely do flips or shit. They just stand there.

I don't hate Vrains but they could make the speed duels more exciting.

Cyberse minus Firewall Dragon are about $6 total. Some of the stuff in the starter deck might be more expensive but it's generally worth it. If you own no cards, get 2-3 of the Link Strike Starter Deck and build up from there.
World Chalice are about $5~6 for everything but Fairy, Guarddragon, and that one Link that you don't even need.
Holly Angel is $2 on her own, but the rest of the Trickstars are in the 0.25~1 dollar range, other than Reincarnation. Don't buy Reincarnation.

You can run shit like Metalmorph, Rare Metalmorph, Battleguard Howling, and Battleguard Rage to supplement your shit. Same with stuff like Light of Intervention and Final Attack Orders will keep faggots from just switching your shit to Defense position and making you cry, as well as dealing with the main drawback of Rematch. Usually searchers are one of the first things to go in budget builds. Before Duelist Alliance was out, I sometimes ran a tech of Magical Abductor, but 3 spells to get 1 card can sometimes be hard to manage. If you're not already running it, try a copy of Amazing Pendulum. It won't help you search, but it'll make it so that you don't have to search as often while recovering. SOL already has a precedent to start a tournament which is the acquisition of Ignis. I'm sure they can hire their own pro duelists to participate in the tournament and see if they can win him from Playmaker. SOL could probably tempt Yusaku by saying they could help him restore his memories or tell him the truth of the events 10 years ago.

Obviously it's a trap but Yusaku would probably enter the tournament since it's his only viable option and he knows SOL was involved in that incident.

Whoever took direction is doing some work already and definitely making some good choices. It took me time to realize what he did to make Link Vrains Duels a bit more fluid and don't feel so dull. For sure he is going back a bit to the 5Ds duels on the city, so expect many 5ds and Arc-V Synchro Arc kind of angles and backgrounds.
