I'm surprised /a/ even talks about this show. it is literally all about the deconstruction of gender roles and traditional sexuality and the myths humanity creates to reinforce those roles. It's also very shoujo.
If anyone thinks the main themes don't deal at all with sexuality or gender, you need to do some reading on what ikuhara and the rest of B-PAPAS said about what they were trying to acheive.
