I'm a fan of the fascist look too. Zeon had that, but they turned it alien by making the uniforms Christmas colors.
But AEUG has a good aesthetic too. A patchwork, ragtag 80s rebel aesthetic. It visually emphasizes that they're not in it for the glory. They're a bunch of hardened veterans that decided to pick up arms again and rebel. As opposed to the fresh faced looking fucks newly recruited from Earth, thinking they're hot shit.

Can we talk about the Zanscare from Victory for a second. What the fuck was Tomino smoking when he wrote that faction. Zeon, the Federation, Titans, they all have understandable goals and points of some sympathy. The Zanscare are by far the worst faction in the UC, and any real mecha I've seen.

Ultra feminist utopians modeled after the French revolution, complete with a love of the guillotine. And whose mission was to use a giant angelic death machine to mindbreak everyone on Earth, slush their brains so they all die. Then take over. Except even then, the retards are getting played by Jupitorians and it's implied they're going to come and take over instead.

Putting all space noids into one group is stupid, because they're by far the majority of the human population before and after the war.
Those "genocidal wars" weren't genocidal at all. The goal was to force the rest of the elites on Earth to abandon it and make space the permanent home for humanity. Not saying it's right, I think Amuro and Bright are pretty much always right. But it wasn't genocide.
And the ones waging them were the remnants of Zeon. Titans only wanted to rule through force, you should at least see AEUG's point of view when they fight for basic, fair, democratic representation. You would have seen war anyways if the Titans had won, because Neo-Zeon slinks back into the dark corners of space to gear up for round 2 (ZZ). Except this time the Federation has much less sympathy from people like Judau and friends from Shangri-la.
Not to mention they had no respect for the Federation they were supposed to protect, slapping around veterans like Noa Bright.

Jovians turned a Newtype fortune teller into a puppet ruler and used her to try to conquer the Earth Sphere. The citizens of Side 2's Amelia colony either wholeheartedly believe in it (Queen Maria was a pretty strong Newtype, all things considered), or try and ride the wave of revolution into seats of power (this is why all of Zanscare's higherups start backstabbing each other near the end).

Jovians don't give a damn what happens to Earth as long as they get to control it, Queen Maria truly wants peace but is never really in a position to say no, Zanscare officials backstab each other a la the Zabis, and fuck you, Zanscare's tech was amazing despite being ridiculous. Previous atmospheric-flight capable suits required huge amounts of propellant (Zeta-era transforming mobile suits, the Jamesguns and Javelins that are shown flying around in some episodes of Victory), or had to be big enough to equip Minovsky Flight systems (Penelope in Xi during Hathaway's Flash). The beam rotor was an efficient way to achieve the atmospheric flight, and doubled as a beam shield when in MS mode. Plus the Einerad wheels increased firepower, armor, and speed all at once. Zanscare MS are absurdly powerful, if absolutely ridiculous.
