imo, its really well made, the plot, music, characters, development, everything that a good anime needs, jojo possesses it. so basically thats why people enjoy the series (cause fucc the manga is amazing too) and become obsessed with it, memes and the fan base take a really high place in their obsession too desu kek

The writing improves with every part but people seem to only care about the memes.

I thought it was a bad meme for months, then I watched it because I was bored and wanted to see a fun trainwreck and I actually liked it.
The characters are entertaining, the setting and power system (stands) is original and interesting and the music's good.
It's not a masterpiece but it's just a really enjoyable anime.

The art really put me off in the first but after a while he gave me a vibe of HnK and tons of old shit.
Pretty good with a lot of good references to the western culture in the japanese vision.

As far as why it's widely popular even with the more casual/normalfag crowds, I think it captures a lot of the essence of old stereotypical anime from when we were younger. There are a lot of straight up weird non sequitor goofy things in it that, ironically since the creator is such a westiboo, just feel very 'oh japan' like old anime used to feel.
Which actually makes sense considering the material that has been adapted so far is actually from that era. Guarantee if they get to the later parts it wont be nearly as popular.
I dunno, it's quirky and unique and somewhat nostalgic.
