The only real reason Senketsu dies is because that's how TTGL ended and they were going through the motions.

Hadnt prevented her from being more or less a regular, if a bit violent, girl in the past. Senketsu and the stress of battle were the main enablers for her non-human behaviour. When these arent present we have no reason to believe she wont go back to being a regular if easily angered woman.

It doesn't, though. He explicitly states that now Ryuuko will be free to wear whatever she wants, which is meant to signify her no longer being bound by the restrictions of this conflict. Yes, supposedly he and Ryuuko are not all that different, but at the same time they are completely different, with only one of them being easily acceptable and self-sufficient in society. The topic of duality in the show is too wide for me to bother writing about all of it here, but suffice to say its in the core of the narrative.

There's basically no reason why Senketsu a purely benevolent shape shifting alien (that's even part human) can't exist in society. Ryuko as she is now could be cut in half and she could put herself back together. Her strength is superhuman and she can tear buildings apart with her bare hands. And this is a world where a normal school has mystic sorcerors and meat tanks. Basically all of that is bullshit and Ryuko swears to keep wearing Senketsu forever in her heart anyway.
