In asian nonsense, there's usually divisions of ki. What they are depends on what basement karate instructor you get. But often it's earthly ki, mortal ki and heavenly ki.

Earthly being radiant, or genki. As in, genki damag. Mortal is ordinary ki. Divine ki is something everyone has but probably in too small an amount to detect or control.

Kais just have divine ki, supposedly. (Don't ask me about the Kaio.) Rose is the same exact thing as SSJ, except what it looks like without any mortal ki mixed in. Blue is just SSJ, except you're using some divine ki to hold in your mortal ki, which ordinarily is erupting out everywhere in an aura.

The episode would have been fine if Tenshinhan hadn't stood like an idiot waiting for the shock surprise. Tenshinhan becoming possessed would just mean Roshi would stop him with the shock surprise in the same way, since the episode was meant to show that Roshi is a serious fighter.

The main issue with the writing of Tenshinhan in those episodes is that the writers just took Tenshinhan being considered a serious fighter for granted, using him to show how great other characters were. You can see that in spite of his bad performance, he's never questioned, called out or insulted. That's obviously not how the viewers took it though.

This practically. While I admit manga is a better product overall than anime, the hard cold truth is that the manga is incomplete compated to the anime. Most characters other than Vegeta, Goku and lately Trunks, dont even have lines. The filler in the anime really helps to develop the characters. The manga is like a wikipedia summary that rushes through content and just shows the highlights of it. I think we are 700 pages in, and the only non fighting character moment were 2 pages of mario kart.

Manga just tries to close some plotholes, make more sense powerlevelwise and focuses 100% on fighting. Its a pedro's wetdream, if only pedros could read.

I always thought SS4 looked kind of stupid, personally. It's mainly the fact that the chest is hairless, along with only the first visible abdominal muscles. And somehow the pecs are also smaller than they should be. I do like the idea of it being more primal looking, but it could definitely be improved.
