It's about who-and-who are getting together, or who-and-who are breaking up. I thought it would be a loss if that would be the big motif just because a girl was the main character. I think there could be more shows with other motives than that.

Maybe S2 will flesh her out more. I also miss the "bite" she had in the OVAs though her current personality makes sense if you consider her more tragic circumstances, they could have handled the whole situation differently. It seems to all stem from LWA slowly but surely falling away from it's original concept as a dark comedy into a more children's show. I recall OVA Diana saying that witches should be feared, while TV Diana comes from a family that outright healed muggle soldiers during wars, suggesting a complete 180 from whatever her original backstory and nature was to be.
