The only reason why he used the stone to kill Kars was because used it to become the ultimate being - it's a fucking paradox. You need the stone to stop Kars from changing, but you need to use the stone to defeat Kars in his changed form? They could've just destroyed the stone and when Stroheim used the UV light on Kars he would've been dead.
Also, fucking Stroheim survives getting blown up, he survives fighting the Pillar Men, he has a fucking machine gun in his stomach, yet he fucking dies at the Battle of Stalingrad? What fucking sense does that make?
