i'm pretty sure there are more marsfags than moonfags
All the other inner senshi are better than moon
mars has the cutest personality
OFFICIAL /A/ SAILOR SENSHI POWER RANKINGS
2. Tuxedo Mask
7. Chibi Moon
9001. Manga Mars
9002. Manga Venus
9003. The Starlights
Y'know with mars being the symbol for male was she a trap this whole time and we never noticed?
Yes, very much so. There's a lot of filler and things don't add up because they forgot to explain something or mention a power, but you barely notice. It's funny as hell, doesn't take itself too seriously (except when it does), and you get a lot of character growth for the cast (especially Usagi - there's a reason why I listed her as best and worst girl) and understand the depths of their friendship.
There's a bit of difference between it and the manga, mostly what I just described. Mars and Venus are completely different. Sailor Moon Crystal follows that more closely, and is generally regarded as an all-around failure.
It's fine, a few odd errors. It's on Hulu right now.
I forgot to add: while there is a lot of filler, they use those episodes to flesh out the characters. The writers know how to provoke a reaction from you, whether they want you to laugh or cry. The 4th Season is a slog, but it gets immeasurably better in the first episode of the 5th season.
You talking shit about my princess?
It's a Tarazuka photo album, they're a famous women only theatre troupe, with a huge lesbian following.
With that in mind, it's a bloody wonder she wasn't lusting after Haruka after she learned she was a girl.
I really dislike the dynamic the senshi have in the manga, and I especially dislike Minako being their leader.
Maybe that's because I watched the show first, but everything about this seems weird and off-putting.
its nothing fancy kinds
we have the background
the static people that are a single painted cell
and then the jumping girls that hardly use any frames really
this scene is just directing really well done
You realize you're talking about Sailor Moon, right? They reuse so much footage it's not even funny. A 24 minute episode might have 18 minutes of original animation at best.
Granted, the fifth season is notably better than the first, but it is what it is.
I finished Sailor Moon, that's up next. I hear it goes a bit way making her more likeable, but I don't hate Minako - I just prefer her anime version a bit better. I've grown used to the idea of Venus being the leader (well, lancer now), but their relationship is completely different.
As the leader, she absolves Usagi from needing to rise to the occasion and growing into the role of leader. That's not jarring in the context of the manga because Usagi really isn't nearly as much of a baby as she is in the anime and there's never any doubt as to how she'll react to any given situation. However, it's a major plot point in the show as Usagi grows up and toughens up from someone who would run crying and screaming away from battle into someone who would leap into death for her friends without hesitation. She grows into her role as Neo Queen Serenity, whereas in the manga she's largely already there.
Usagi is their friend in the anime; in the manga she's the job. They say they're friends, but she's nowhere near as close to the senshi as she is in the anime. The moment Venus arrives and they remember their memories, the show shifts in tone and it's palpable - suddenly their friend has to be protected at all costs and they gladly sacrifice themselves for her - something Usagi is horrified of. She
absolves them of their duty when she brings them back. Their connection to her and the group is about their personal loyalty, not merely their duty.
The manga never really does this
because the senshi never die in the first arc. They always treat her as their princess first and foremost, and while they are friends, Venus isn't the close mirror of Usagi that she is in the show. Her first scene with Usagi as friends in the anime is her comforting her after she lost Tuxedo Mask, but she's far more distant in the manga, even if she is more or less her bodyguard when the rest invariably die. Though that's probably because she agonizes over her failure to prevent Serenity's death.
But again, that's a difference in the show - they pretend they're girls who can have normal lives. Usagi indulges in it and encourages it among her friends, even though they all know exactly who they are and what the future holds for them.
I personally think the anime is better, but there are a lot of things the manga did right. The Pegasus arc notably, but also the relations between the outers and the inners is immeasurably better, if not a bit boring. At least we get a reason why Pluto and Neptune are so intensely loyal; Uranus and Saturn were the only ones to get any real development and even that stopped after the Death Busters arc.
The thing that sticks out to me more than anything is when Usagi
goes off to fight Nehelenia against everyone else's advice. Rei flips out and screams at her to stay, clearly upset that her best friend is going off to die. That relationship is completely absent in the manga and it suffers because of it.
Don't you ever notice that whenever
everyone dies like in the original anime and sailor starsit's always Rei being the last one alive to talk to Usagi with the emotional speech before dying and Usagi giving the biggest reaction to her?I liked that detail, really makes them feel close.
Mercury, take care of her. When they met Venus and the show took a darker turn. That always stuck out to me, especially since up until that point Rei was antagonistic and fighting for leadership with her.
Yeah, that was pretty good, and surprisingly accurate given the time it was released. A shame Sailor Moon Uncensored is more or less dead, I'd love to hear their opinions on Crystal.
Why can't we all agree that every Senshi has their good and bad sides, favorites come down to personal taste and all Senshi>everything else
It has a lovable cast, beautiful visuals, interesting characters, is funny, captivating and the people who made it put a lot of Love into small details
the only bad things about it are that animations were often reused and the plot is sometimes repetitive, but that can be expected considering it has 200 episodes
If you play your cards correctly, you can tap both of them tonight. Be creative!
>literal 3D whores
>better than the sailor moon girls
Rei and Ami are the best combo
I want to start rewatching Sailor Moon sagas, but I dont remember where I left off when I was a kid, and I dont want to watch the new ones, i just cant stand the new designs/art, it feel too uncanny shojo for me.
Is there any guide for watching Sailor Moon? I remember a lot of the villains, I remember also watching past the Chibi Moon/Black Lady arcs... alternatively please witch arc should I watch.
Michiru is the best girl, followed by Hotaru.
I'm going to watch my girly Taiwanese cartoons and you will like it.
sailor moon >/= sailor mars
dey best grils together!
they're sort of different sides of the same coin with each pulling those opposite aspects out of the other at times- you can get a goofy mars around moon and a serious moon around mars.
She's just as enamored with the Starlights as the other girls, but is more shy about it.
Meanwhile, Usagi is smug as fuck when she finds out.
It's a specific scene, and Sailor Moon Stars's animation is roughly better than most of the older versions.
While them jumping over the crowd is well animated, do note that nobody else in the crowd is moving. If they had to animate EVERYONE in that scene, they probably wouldn't have even done it.
>Mars' scene at the end of S1
I heard a rumor that in Japan, when that episode aired, the people/kids watching lost their shit, and the studio got a lot of complaints.
All of them are nice and all, but only one has my heart.
Usually I don't like Blondes. But Usagi got so much more airtime and had the best personality. So I prefer her the most.
On the flip side, Makoto has my exact fetishes. But she gets so ignored in the show that I just can't bring myself to care about her.
Everyone has a sailorfu, but does everyone have a villainfu?
I pick Koan, but Aluminum Siren, Dark Lady, and Beryl's tits are good choices too.
Not only that, but they only planned the first arc. The overwhelming success of Sailor Moon changed that. That's why R starts with that weird alien tree arc before it gets into the Black Moon plot.
Usagi was always the least popular character in her own show. I think that was by design, though. She was the only character that failed to retain her character development throughout the seasons and always reverted to a bumbling retard.
Ami was my initial crush and the animators subtely gave her the most shapely body. but Venus has my heart. Mars is great too, giving her high heels was a flash of genius
Mercury>Rest of the Senshi>Tuxedo Kamen>Pluto
Pre-corruption Beryl did strange things to me when I first saw her in the manga.
A close contender would be Mistress 9, but she lost points due to the white pupils and the crazy eyes.
Mars and Moon fans shouldn't fight.
Indeed, it should be the Moon and Chibi-Moon fans who fight
Chibi-Usa Sailor Moon>>> Black Lady
Every time there's a evil character, her good counterpart is just so much better.
I wish I still had the pages where Togashi was talking about becoming a dad and the overall images with Naoko as her avatar in the back. Those were cute. Have this instead.
But Pluto is the hottest.
Forget Magical Girls, that's a goddamned Magical Woman.
It's a shame the anime leaves her so poorly developed, doesn't even make her the school nurse.
That was one of the things I liked about the manga - the Outers cut the bullshit and readily accepted their new role.
Though it's a bit absurd that a physicist would become a school nurse, but hey she's happy. All she ever wanted was to be part of the team.
I wonder who could be behind this post?
>Sailor moon is one of the first shows seen as a child and loved it
>Get into anime 5 years ago and try sailor crystal which was dropped 4 episodes in
>See all these cute webms from the og series
Muh..maybe I should try the original out again
You need to do that.
Don't forget to watch the movie after each corresponding season, and if you really want to try Crystal again, skip to season 3 where they decided to unfuck themselves.
What are the pros and cons of each sailor soldier?
Gets better later
Is pretty funny later on
Is pretty insufferable in season 1
Best girl early in
Has badass computer glasses
Occasionally has badass moments
She barely does anything that stands out after season 1
Mars ability does the same thing as her glasses and is used more.
Badass of the group
Calls usagi on her shit, but has a good relationship with her
FUCKING FIRE POWERS
Her tsundere characteristics can get annoying on occasion
Is a tomboy
Most boring one of the group
can fistfight but she never uses it
Everything she could be doing as a tomboy Mars is doing instead
second best girl
quirky and funny
Fab as fuck
Shejoins late and is boring until season 2.
Can you elaborate further. Something my dick can easily understand.
>watching the DiC dub is worth it
It can be, but only a handful of episodes are really worth it. Most of it is just mediocre, not any good but also not bad enough to be entertaining. The parts that are actually good or otherwise hilarious are amazing to watch though.
It would be, but I suspect that basically the only reason it isn't is because of licensing and how shit went down. It ought to be due for a massive nostalgia revival in the west that puts it on par with the popularity of DBZ like it was at around the year 2000, but there's just been no big push for it despite the re-release. They could totally do something like air it on Toonami, create a new film adaptation that isn't Crystal, anything at all and actually market it, but Toei are content to keep Precure in their own Japanese magical girl bubble and westerners don't know what to do with it.
If you ain't /pgsm dark mercury/ you ain't shit
I can't stand most SM doujins because they almost never give them preferences or personalities that match up with the source material in any way. They also rarely do shit with the villains, which is even more disappointing.
nobody love Uranus??
Yeah, but how else is Haruka going to learn to love the cock?
Is dedicated to you
Acts like a child
is pretty clingy
smart and has her life togenther
kind and quiet
probably wont want to experiment in bed
Is a bit too quiet
hottest one of the group
great if you like tsunderes
is still a tsundere
most likely to hit you for suggesting sexual things
Is fab as fuck and got a great figure
can ensnare you with a whip
quirky and funny
the only one in the group who will probably be okay with kinky shit in bed.
While not as bad as Moon, she's still a ditz.
has a decent figure
Least likely of the group to want to sexually experiment.
>Watch Ojamajo Doremi
>Get a feeling of the Sailor Senshi from the main characters, where I could compare each one like Doremi is like Usagi, Hazuki is like Ami, Aiko is like Makoto, Momoko is like Minako etc.
>find out that they shared some of the same staff
Now do the rest of >>161149856
Based on this post Mars falls perfectly to my taste.
I've only seen the abridged, I remember she's portrayed as an emo/goth/satanist. Art-wise, I think she has the best character design.
I picked those because honestly they stuck out the most.
Gets better later on
Her adult form is actually pretty hot
comes back as a joke character in Season 3
makes a fun duo with Usagi later on
is a 900 year old child, and will never grow up physically or mentally in your lifetime
is the fucking worst in season 2
FUCKS A UNICORN
most feminine of the group
plays an instrument
Not a very interesting character
great if you like traps
independent and strong
rides a motorcycle and has a nice car
has a pretty cool attack
Pretty much a guy
Not very easy to get along with
Very boring character
Guardian of time
quiet adult woman
has the most adult figure
Isn't as antisocial as Neptune and Uranus unless you trespassed into her domain
Barely does anything as far as I've watched
very kind girl
easiest girl to have fun with since she barely gets to have any
Don't stick your dick in the unintentional antichrist
Is too weak to do much with you.
I didn't finish SS or watch stars, so that's all I got for you.
Thanks for delivering.
Mars is the best.
Like I said earlier, she's great earlier on, but after season 1 she doesn't do as much as the other girls. Her awesome computer visor doesn't get the use it deserves either.
It's for those crazy ass jumps and loops these magical girls always do. You gotta have good situational awareness, man.
PROTECT THE INNOCENT
SERVE THE PUBLIC TRUST
UPHOLD THE LAW
You see these in the first person view of Ami's visor. Cool Easter egg by the producers one of which must have been a robocop fan
She's a great character and her dynamic with Michuru made S a great season.
Actually it's on her computer.
Fun fact that Chibiusa was flashed by a little boy in S
But she makes up for it with whenever an episode is focused on her, it's most of the time better than the other's like when they had two Venus/Jupiter conflict episodes in two different seasons.
It's kind of fucking funny how tame the anime is compared to the manga.
They don't fuck around on the Manga. All of the 4 Generals from S1 of Sailor Moon end up dying in other ways that resolve the Sailors of having to kill them themselves, but in the manga, if they're not fucking roasting them alive, they're cutting them to fucking ribbons.
If you're a big fan of Venus, her introduction into Sailor Moon is cutting Zoicite to shread.
No, really. That happens!
This thread has insufficient miko content.
Because she's secretly the potentially best girl.
Sure, she's a brat with daddy issues when she's young, but it takes a village to raise a child.
She's going to grow up to look like Usagi, but even hotter.
She's shown to be a straight A student, so she's probably getting mentored by Ami.
As stated she's smart, and she's still probably determined to one-up her mom, so you better believe she's going to learn how to cook and clean from Mako, and probably learn how to throw a punch too.
And Minako would probably force her to learn fashion, whether she asks or not.
Add the air of regality she can carry by being a princess, and mix it with the casual silliness she picks up from her mom and friends, and Chibi-Usa will one day be the Best Girl.
First off, he was called Pegasus.
First and a half, he was an Alicorn, but that's too close to horse show to not spoiler.
Secondly, that horse was actually a cute boy.
Thirdly, Supergirl also had a thing with a shapeshifting flying horse, but you don't ever hear anyone talking shit about her or Comet, do you?
Busty Goddess Tier:
Nerd Appeal Tier:
Hot Girl on Girl Tier:
Only true tier list.
I really want Naru to be Sailor Eris and Momo to be Sailor Chiron, but these will never be.
I should note that Luna here lists Chiron's symbol, but that's probably a mistake since Vesta is missing.
Knowing that Kotono Mitsuishi voiced Usagi and Misato, I couldn't help but feel that in many ways Sailor Moon is the diametrical opposite of NGE while I watched it and I wondered how Usagi would've handled the Angels.
Then she wouldn't be Usagi and this conversation is moot.
This is the same girl who willingly sacrificed herself several times to save her friends. Usagi is love, Usagi is life.
Well, there is at least one notable Marsfag.
she makes both my heart and my weiner tingle
Who, the cat?
I haven't read the manga, so I have to ask- Does Minako have any reaction when she finds out that the talking cat that has seen her coming out of the shower and changing clothes was actually a hot guy?
>It's kind of fucking funny how tame the anime is compared to the manga.
>All of the 4 Generals from S1 of Sailor Moon end up dying
I don't know why manga fans keep bringing this up. Manga generals are just treated like MotW and die as unceremoniously as any random that gets killed by a tiara. The anime characters kill off baddies all the time, they just usually don't kill sympathetic characters that last longer than an episode, which doesn't happen any more frequently in the manga than it does the anime.
It sucks that the anime has to resolve things by excusing the senshi from killing them, but it does so much more compelling stuff with the characters that I have no idea how anyone could not prefer it.
This is one of my favorite aspects of the anime. Rei being the 'rock' of the group is something that the lack of which in the manga makes it feel empty.
I have no idea why manga fans just always seem to use the same talking points though and seldom bring up the genuinely creatively screwed up shit it does though. They'll bring up scenes showing some scribbles of some character being burned to the bone, while omitting that it occurs in a dream, but will completely ignore stuff like the self immolating cult of nuns. I don't think I've even heard of a manga fan even bring up Usagi's suicide without being prompted, despite that being the single most iconic and fucked up thing the manga does.
Jupiter is love, Jupiter is life, Jupiter is best wife.
I absolutely adore Usagi but
It is the tentacle one. Again the artistic direction of it almost looked too perfectly on model making it fucking great. But unfortunately it uses one of my least favorite senshi. If it was ANYONE other than Chibi-usa it would have been much better.
Unfortunately it also seems that the artist/animator of it has not come out with anything since. Sucks considering that was some fucking real talent right there.
>The manga wasn't allowed to be as dark as the anime got
You're the firs person I've heard put it that way, but you're not even wrong. The manga wouldn't willingly explore an abusive relationship like with anime Nephrite.
>Usagi wasn't so forgiving
She was never even that different. It's only in Stars that she's actively forgiving, every other time she just does what she feels is right in the moment and is otherwise perfectly happy to attack villains.
I'll give props to the manga for developing her into a more self aware character.
>there are more pressing matters.
Which would have made it the perfect time to bring it up.
She's narrowly escaped death and all she's concerned with is that she had a cute boy in close proximity, and probably in her bed, for the last year or two.
I suppose; the anime tried to redeem the villains every season, except the first which (as you noted), the manga did. It's worth remembering that the first arc was originally going to be the entire series, and Takeuchi wanted a bad end.
It's funny you mention his guards though: Crystal disappointed me by just straight up adapting the manga in that regard. They should've blended the two stories - perhaps borrow a bit from Codename: Sailor V and have Minako fall for him again before having to kill him. That would've been amazing.
If I had any knowledge of translating Japanese or making language patches for VNs, you can be sure I would.
Alas, I lack that power.
And it's a damn shame, because it's made by Orcsoft.
You believe that I would forestall someone from enjoying the same fetishes as myself, that being thicc, slutty MILFs and moral degradation.
You wound me with these base accusations.
Everyone, this is my waifu. Say something nice, please.
>don't two-time unless you've two-timed before
Reminder that Usagi is supposed to have a little chub to her.
No I did not.
I wish the Figuarts weren't shit and actually did these versions.
I mean, there's already one down, just finish the set!
They already redeemed themselves with all of the flirting in Stars and S, their theme song whenever they entered, did something perfectly, and exited, and their whole routine as Senshi with opening lines and attacks
to me at least
Made a good contrast to the Inner Senshi and their way of thinking was justified: They were meant to be a stronger outer wall for the threats the inner Senshi probably couldn't handle coming to the solar system. They never interacted much either.
>That lightning fast turn before she fires
So cool, you can see why Usagi and Minako followed her for an entire episode.
Yeah, but they should have gotten with the program after she'd redeemed about half her villians.
I mean, Setsuna seemed to understand how things worked, but she never tried convincing Haruka or Michiru, even if she went behind their backs once or twice.
They remembered how the Silver Millennium fell the first time around: they were stuck guarding the edge of the solar system and had to summon Saturn, who promptly destroyed almost all life.
And in the anime they were completely justified in calling out Usagi, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. Furthermore, while Haruka got a lot of development with Usagi, Michiru doesn't get any and her characterization is at best a snide bitch 99% of the time.
At least in the manga they cut their shit and went to highschool with her to guard her.
Moon was too shit for anyone to like her. She was too busy whining and bitching about stuff to get shit done.
There's being comic relief, and then there is being fucking annoying
>she voices the gundam milf i've fapped to without knowing
I gotta go to work, but they're all on the SM wiki.
