Anyway, I think Princess would really be more useful dead. She hasn't gotten any screentime or character development, but dead she could serve as motivation for Ange and Beato. That would justify her presence in the show at least.

I'm rooting for this show because I like 3hz and Ichiro Okouchi. But both of them are kind of notorious for shitting the bed when a series looks its most promising. It's still entirely possible PuriPuri is going to become trash.

I really enjoyed this episode (the ending was really good with the heartwarming touch coating the tragedy of the whole story) but honestly, this spying thing has taken a huge step back and is nothing more than an excuse to introduce the characters more in-depth. Even episode 5 was like this, albeit more subtly.
I'll take this episode as that one ballad you usually get in the middle of those power metal albums: very different and not the same intent at all, but still quite a breather that gives more aspects to the overall work.

Still a leftover feeling of an episode being quite amiss compared to the rest. But I can forget it because it was overall really nice. I love sweet-coated tragedies.

That's it, there's nothing left in the past to dig up other than the main plot now.

Episode 1 to 4 showed us there was a way to have the characters doing different types of spy works by still using their abilities in a meaningful way AND introducing the characters. But that’s the thing: The same can be said about all other episodes too. They all serve an ulterior purpose and the spy work is varying degrees of window dressing.

You see the thing, I'm not talking about what the spywork actually does in the narrative, but how much focus the actual spywork has inside the narrative, that's entirely different. In the first four episodes, the action and the political intrigue take most of the screentime. Even Beato's episode had them using the Princess' status to infiltrate a ship, Dorothy using her seduction skills to bypass the guards, Ange and Beato dodging guards, spying on conversations, Ange doing mid-air stunts with lots of action, and we still managed to get an acceptable Beato development.

Spies movies as shown in the west have been taking down entire ships/subs by themselves since pretty much the beginning of the genre (I'm of course talking about the more mainstream ones) so that's not a big deal at all. In fact, one of the biggest interest about the whole spying thing is the fact that a single agent can do immense damage by himself inside of an enemy infrastructure.

Incorrect. Episode 1, 2 and 3 have a lot of actual spy activities going on. Investigation, trickery, sleigh of hand, negotiation - and all of which is the central narrative, with plot decoration. Ep 4 and 5 started to dilute a bit, but they still keep the work as the main narrative and also the one that took the most screentime, and took skills to accomplish.

6 is the first that is NOT a spywork episode. It's a family drama first and foremost. It's all about Dorothy's problem with her dad and her dad's problem. The spywork involved was beyond oversimplistic. There's no skill involved. It's what frustrated people.
