Ch. 175 IIRC. If i put two on two, then it makes sense that was the moment where the manga started to rush things. The episode 175 was released almost 1 year before the series' finale, so the cancellation message could've been sent during chapters 170 and 180.

You probably still haven't read this chapter(since you said you're following the viz releases and you have 3 volumes left) but Chitoge leaves Japan when she hears Onodera say she likes Raku and when she later hears Raku say he liked Onodera since middle school(he says he likes Chitoge too but she's so distraught she leaves before she can hear it)

Chitoge has it much worse throughout the series. Raku isn't in love with her at first, she's practically alone since she has to act as his girlfriend so she can't even confide on Tsugumi, yet she somehow forces herself to try despite always being scared that Raku might not love her...she has to face the most shit... especially when he friend zones her, but she still doesn't give up easily. This is far more worthy of respect than Onodera.

Not to mention I will never forget that time when Raku was in the hospital and Onodera didn't stay long on her visit because Ruri didn't come and she got nervous while Chitoge literally scaled the hospital building just to see him and spent the night with him. That right there just proves Chitoge loves him more.

I didn't watch a single episode of the anime. I've read the manga in its entirety twice. It's an enjoyable read but Chitoge is not a likeable character and never has been. The few times she wasn't being an asshole doesn't outweigh the fact that she really is an asshole. She gets better near the end but the damage has been done by that point. The development she gets isn't believable at all either because it happens far too quickly.

In hindsight, Raku called Chitoge a Gorilla at first because he found her a violent and ugly cunt and later only used that nickname out of frustration. Same for Chitoge, she used Moyashi at first because he was a physical weakling and a whiner and after used it more as an affectionate nickname.

PD: Ranma did have progression though. However, Takahashi had to ruin it because of the character reset she did in the ending

However, you should give Kudos to Raku because he was the only character who called out the tsundere's bullshit. I've never seen another anime MC berating, calling out and chewing out a girl who mistreats him with no reason. I have to admit Raku had balls for standing up against Chitoge's petty issues with him. That harsh call out in the Romeo and Juliet arc at least had a solid argument behind it.

IMO. Chitoge is the most annoying and unlikable tsundere in existence. I would rather be a loner for the rest of my life than to marry such a brat.
