The hints have been dropped but it's becoming increasingly more and more foreshadowed that X-ON was hit by the Smoke instead of the Light. It's possible he was hit by both but It's more likely he was by the Smoke. So far he's only copied abilities from people who were hit by the Smoke and he deflected Lisa's question regarding his costume.

It's made by Japs at DEEN. Stan just pitched the idea or signed some papers. The director's the hack who did Aku no Hana.
It also airs first on Japan with a japanese dub weeks before the english dub. Hell, it's simuldub schedule ain't any different from other shows licensed by Funiroll

It's a bit sad everyone dropped the show after the first episode as it wasn't representative of the rest. I think they wanted to make it weird and memorable in order to hook the audience, too bad it was utter shit. They should have started the series with episode 2.
Even though it's cliché-ridden I'm enjoying the show quite a bit so far. But maybe it's because I'm not familiar with super-heroes outside of Hollywood movies, so my standards are super low and I'm not jaded yet with the genre.

Is this a 13 episodes series? The somewhat slow pace and we getting bits about I-guy, Merchant and Trader, the Allen family made me feel like the ending wont be a simple "bad guy dies" but instead a "our gang foiled his plan, but they are still can do whatever they want still" ending.

I don't think his crime fighting is THAT shallow. At the very least, it kinda isn't his fault that these criminals keep busting out. You really gotta leave that to the police. But the police clearly can't handle it and it's apparent the organization these bad guys are under are busting them out.
