Why do SOLs like having the cast singing the OP and/or ED? And why does KyoAni and Dogakobo keep doing that too? Apart from maybe SHAFT, no other studio likes having the cast singing the OP and/or ED almost every single time.

You don't have to hire real artists to make your OP and EDs. You use the voice actors your already hiring, get some shitty vocaloid producer you pick up from niconico to make the instrumental for dirt cheap because he's working on his "Dream", and on top of it all the weeb cutlure in japan that idolizes these fake beautiful women for having multifaceted talents is also transferred over into the anime. Giving not only the characters a popularity boost but also the voice actors. You can only watch an anime so much. But music is something you can listen to over and over and is also easy to share. There are plenty of people who would find a song catchy but never watch the source material. Leading to CD sales, leading to $$$.
And thats why anime is a mistake.
