I started reading this expecting furfaggotry but it's unironically good. Thoughts?
>>160970045
is a Zootopia well thought out.
Also thanks for reminding me to check it out, finally they updated it
>>160970045
I like translating it.
>>160970429
I've only read the version onkissmanga, I know of no others. Is that one yours?
>>160970429
which site do you translate for?
giove me an estimate of what takes so long to translate a chapter/volume?
>>160970488
Yeah, it is. Pretty sure there's only one English version out there.
.>>160970557
Hot Chocolate Scans. Usually takes two to four hours to translate one chapter. Everything else usually gets done the day after raws release (Wednesdays).
Also, we're caught up.
>>160970705
pass the sauce.
>>160970705
First I'll say you do a great job on the translations. But I am confused about the whole back alley market thing. Why not just call it the black market? "Back alley" is a bit of a mouthful.
>>160970766
Website? http://hotchocolatescans.com/
>>160970810
I was just being nitpicky about being literal. I was very concerned about the fact that the original word 裏市 appears to be a combination of 裏町(alley/back street) and 闇市(black market). You're right that "back alley market" is a mouthful. "Alley market" is probably better.
I really like it's artstyle.
It's ugly, but still appealing somehow.
>>160970992
what happened with 31 and 32 in beastars? you jumped 28-30 to 33-40
>>160970045
>unironically good
You mean "ironically". If you had expected it to be good, it would have been unironically good.
>>160971187
No, when I said I enjoy it "unironically," I meant that I liked it without reading it just to be a special snowflake hipster.
>>160971158
Ah, that's dumb. I forgot to post it, even though it was always in my online reader. Thanks for pointing that out for me. I posted it.
>>160970429
Thanks for all your hard work, Translator-kun
>>160970045
i liked it at the start, but the last chapters go full furry

>is a Zootopia well thought out.
I've never seen that movie, but I love this manga regardless.
>>160970045
It's okay. The animal characters are relevant to the plot, like Zootopia, but the plot bounces around generic romance and school drama plot. The whole Lion arc thing is the worst. Seriously just feels like the artist just saw Zootopia and wanted to make it edgier. The characters are alright but I seriously don't like where it's going.
>>160970992
Keep up the good work.
>>160971519
Therescue operationseemed a bit contrived, andthe fight scenes were weird. Like, why didn't Legosi pick up that guy's gun? And why did the panda not pull out a his fucking M2 and waste everybody to start with?
But I did find it interesting how Louis decided to act.Why not go down fighting? Seems strange for him to submit in the end like that, but also fitting, like he managed to accept something about himself.

>>160971500
well zootopia tried to handle the topic of racist and discrimination but very poorly and leave a lot of thing unexplored for a supposedly utopia where everyone can live int and not really everyone, just some species. Beastars acknowledge they are animals, they are aware of their instincts and cover many questions about diet, breeding and adaptation. I will not be surprised if the author was inspired doing this after watching zootopia
>>160970045
Is it ending? Unless it suddenly picks up on that forgotten serial killer plotline there's not much else left.
>>160971753
>there's not much else left.
We still don't know what happened to Louis and there's Juno...
>>160970045
I like it.
>>160971753
There was someone in Twitter who asked the author if the manga was ending, but the author denied this.
Fan: "I heard rumors that Beastars is ending. Is it true? I'm a huge fan, so I want you to continue by all means!"
Paru (author): "Wha...?! I haven't thought about what series I should do next, so that's probably not true!"
>>160971702
Yeah but the setting still feels very typical highschool setting, with a pretty typical love story. At the moment the whole beast mixing and these different animals having to live together in a school setting feels really unexplored for the most part, past a few filler/extra chapters. My main issue is the focus seems to be shifting away from the society, the whole beastar thing, or even Legosi's experience in school, but towards his relationship with Haru, which isn't that great a plot so far.
>>160972099
I see their relationship as a point of focus for the societal issues. And I think it's interesting on its own as an exploration of how people see their purpose.
>>160972037
That's good to hear.
>>160972099
the school thing is very cliche but that's a common thing in japan when they want to do a story for tenagers, lately it has been what's trendy for a serious romantic teenage story. Now if only they stopped shifting focus in every chapter and just give us the entire main plot that was Tem's murdering scene but it feels like the author wants to build all this tension to give the final reveal, and the romance comes very pointless
>>160972241
I kinda wonder if Tem's death is just gonna be some unanswered intro that was never meant to be the main plot.
>>160971850
Louis is DEAD
>>160972822
That's what it looked like, but who knows. Maybe his dad will show up, or the lions won't kill him right away.
>>160973100
Gouhin is still there, my guess is that he will save him.

>>160970429
Thank you so much! Started reading this on a whim, and it's been a real blast.
I do agree that things seem to have shifted towards a more generic kind of tone (it's even headed towards a harem), but I still have hope that things can go well. The first several chapters were quite good. I feel like Legosi is kind of losing a lot of his charm, though. It was fun seeing him lurk about, observing, timid, until the right moment, where his power and agency seemed even more remarkable. Now, he almost does too much, which kind of dulls him down into a more cookie-cutter protagonist.
>>160970429
Thank you
>>160973862
>Harem
Only Juno is obsessed with Legosi, Haru is just being nice because he saved her.
>>160973970
It's a series of love triangles right now, which is perfectly fine for me. I'm just wary since Legosi is seemingly becoming more and more popular. It's when we get the transfer student feline that my alarm is going off.
Is weird I don't find anything weird or awkward about them stripping off, i guess internet numb me to find this normal
>>160974165
You get numb to everything eventually, thats why immortality is suffering
I've seen this getting posted every so often, and I just now took a look at chapter 1. Not sure why I haven't picked it up already, this is an interesting premise.
>>160974575
idk if its because they aren't humans but I don't feel like saying "gross, they are animals" i think is the context which makes me feel inmerse so much into the story i don't raise an eyebrow
I just hope Juno and Legosi end up together
