My friend who only started watching anime a few months ago started with K-ON and literally rewatched it and the movie like 3 or 4 times before he finally got bored and watched something else.

I on the other hand never get the urge to rewatch any anime series, at least not all the way through.

When I watch a really good anime I can't just "move on". I have to rewatch it until I'm satisfied that I've fully appreciated every aspect of it. I'll often read source or spinoff material and then rewatch

I'm in the opposite side of you. I watched K-on 6 years ago. I still vaguely remember what happens in each episode. I fell in love with the character and I could not move on. Keion has my favorite cast out of anything in any piece of media. But because I love them so much, in the last 6 years, I have not been able to rewatch the show. I'm scared. Scared that if I start again, it'll end again. That scene will come again. Even last time, I barely held back tears. I don't think my heart can take it. So I can't rewatch the show I love so much.

I have to delete K-on from my hard drive everytime I'm done watching it.
K-on got me to improve a lot of things about myself that I wont blog about but most importantly I switched from coffee to tea to symbolize it, and I get taken all the way back to 2010 every morning. If I ever realize I've started to drink my tea on autopilot for a couple days or weeks without really remembering why I do it in the first place, then I know it's time to rewatch K-on.

rewatching it to the point where I might become too familiar with it lowers its value for me because I might end up holding a firm opinion on something. By the time I end up needing to rewatch I've forgotten most of it and I learn something new everytime. Or perhaps just relearned something that I've forgotten. The point is that the demographic outside Japan are usually not conditioned to like SoL anime with cute characters. People generally like stuff that's fast paced and has a lot of blood and action and sex scenes over here.

I don't know much about MLP but isn't that show legitimately made for kids?
Series like k-on come off as a show for kids as well but it has bunch of lewd moments. I wouldn't allow my daughter to come near anime in young age. It's like japanse make kids show but they know that 20 year old males are the main audience so they adjust them appropriately.
