I know this is bait but I'll bite. Grimgar is a mediocre story with mediocre worldbuilding and nonsensical characters. A school for white mages doesn't tell them not to burn heals on baby scratches and not to try and frontline a fight; when this is what gets them killed early on more than anything.

That right there is enough to condemn this whole series. It's a story that wants drama but doesn't know how not to make it retarded in hindsight.

It's even more nonsensical when you consider where the scrubs come from. They suddenly appear on some old tower, clearly having arrived from Earth, not only with few memories, but with some mechanism that derails their thoughts if they try hard enough to remember. And it's not just them, this has apparently been going on so long that there are rules that force them into becoming sheep for the goblins, and a small industry based around training and equipping them.
