Featuring the worst art ever to be featured in Jump
Bumping with another one
>we want the Tokyo Ghoul audience
You're really doing this right now?
I actually kinda liked it early on but yeah, it went to complete shit later.
I doubt that it counts, because I don't think anyone will forget this absolute shitshow anytime soon, but i lost it so fucking hard at this fucking ending.
There was a time when Seo Kouji wanted to succed drawing sports manga.
>a sports manga
as opposed to?
>It is also interesting to note that the main love interest of the male protagonists of several of his works are extremely similar in appearance, namely in Half and Half, Cross Over, Suzuka, and Kimi No Iru Machi
U19 is an underrated masterpiece.
You shitty adults, just don't get the deep social commentary.
>Obvious Naruto rip off
>MC is kind of like proto-Melodias
>tournament arc is Chuunin Exam with some numbers filed off
>Actually decent still
>Suddenly chapters stop
What happened to this one?
>It wasn't bad at all and was actually getting better.
Seems like the Japanese didn't agree.
Remember this thing?
Wasn't the author supposed to be some promising prodigy?
Whatever hapoend to him?
Part of me thinks this would've been way, way big if it came out now in the wake of Yuri on Ice since it could've easily been spun into Tumblr-bait.
Masculine toned girl who uses male pronouns because she grew up in a testosterone-fueled dojo
Learns ice skating partially to get close to a boy, who was literally interested in her BECAUSE he thought she was a boy (male pronoun use, short hair, small boobs), rival is traditionally pretty tsundere.
That crowd would've ate this shit up.
There's so many canceled series on WSJ it's hard to keep track.
Oh yeah, and one of the big touching scenes is a literal transwoman doing the MC's hair and makeup and making her look like "a woman"- and the MC bursts into tears because it's the first time she really felt like a girl.
Cancelling this is one of the worst crimes in Jump's history. Along with Double Arts.
Oh I remember the girl having some really ofc model tits.
Who remembers this one.
It's always the ones with straight-laced romance that gets the axe the fastest. Nips can't handle it unless it's ambiguous and leads nowhere or gets a resolution at the very last chapter.
This one was only 10.
I just like my usual shounen tropes mixed with some regular good old cute romance, but that seems to be too much to ask for.
>Raiku explained on his blog that it has ended due to his own "weakness."
>The manga was not polling well, and his editor proposed a new story development, but Raiku found it too unpleasant to write.
>In the month between the story meeting and his deadline, Raiku began to feel it was hopeless, so he sent an e-mail asking to end the series.
>He stressed that the problem was with him and not the editor, who he said contributed many good ideas in the past.
5 volumes is a better run that a lot of the shit here anyway.
>Romance shouldn't exist in shounen at all
Only gay romance can succeed in WSJ
I just remember how rushed the ending was
He also made a shogi manga that didn't last for long. But I rather liked Kurogane.
I forgot the plot since it got so boring, other than out of no where attemptes rape scene.
It was garbage though, so no loss here.
This shit fucking hurts me though.
Holy shit you're right. What does the RT stand for?
The original series is listed as Discontinued on bakamanga.
However, the author is writing a sequel under the title 'Dragon Eye Rt Zero'. So maybe he moved magazines and axed his first one?
That series is listed as Ongoing and started 2015.
This one was such anomaly.
I have never seen a manga that got axed within 30 chapters with so many doujins and lewd fanart.
Mako was cute as hell. Too bad she got sidelined after just a few chapters.
Look at this cutie. How could anyone think it was a good idea to basically make her irrelevant?
Dunno if anyone else has read this, but it's by Nakaba Suzuki, author of Kongou Banchou and Nanatsu no Taizai. I'm kinda mad that it ends so abruptly just when it was starting to get to the climax, likely because of cancellation, but Kongou Banchou and NnT are good so I can't complain.
I didn't even know it was from jump, it went on reasonably long right?
How did it end, I kinda stopped when they started the second game.
I know that they all got out of the school. I think his dad and a bunch of other adults got involved in the end, and went to some island to find a guy who fell down a well, which was the incident that started everything.Or something like that. That probably makes no sense so maybe someone else can explain it better, it wasn't a terrible ending.
Saiko and its author are a treasure.
I miss scumbros too bad scanlations died with the series.
The author went out with a bang, I hope he comes back
Anyone remember this shit? So terrible, it may have been a self-parody.
Forever stuck writing sidequels/sequels/midquels of GTO.
Hopefully it'll be back next year along with the licensing rights. Fucking Shueisha
>Wanting Flowers to come back
Anon, it's shit and the only good part of it so far was WWII Kamakazee ghost. It retroactively made a bunch of characters irrelevant, and fucked the lore harder than a female knight in an orc cave.
you are shit
>It retroactively made a bunch of characters irrelevant
I don't care about the old characters anymore, I want to see the new ones, If I wanted to see the original gang i'd read the Kanzenbang
>fucked the lore
>you are shit
You're opinion was already discarded
>I don't care about the old characters anymore
Neither did the writer since he killed off half of them off-screen even though by that point people like Iron Jeanne are beyond top tier shaman.
Shaman kings are supposed to fade into the great spirit after their term. Now suddenly there is a council of Previous kings and they can vote out the new king if they don't like them which means logically, each new king is going to be voted out and have this secondary tournament happen because no person who was running the world paradigm for 500 years is going to like the next guy coming along trying to change things.
Also how did they agree on rules for a secondary tournament? When did they decide to use a majority vote to initiate it?
Yes it is a shame, I am dreading the day for when this gets included in these threads too.
What happened to it? Some of the arcs were really good.
Deus x Machina
It was a nice steampunk blade runner that should have ended in a much better way
You mean hinomaru Zumou?
It is still ongoing, but I heard it might be ending.
Not because of the axe, but the story just reached it's natural conclusion, but I don't follow it myself so I am not sure if it is true, but it is still running in jump if that is what you are wondering.
I've never seen any Jump manga as overly lewd as this one. The whole series read like a softcore hentai doujin.
If you're only talking about the translated chapter, you've seen literally nothing. The lewdness triples after it moved to Jump+ and the series lasted five times as long there.
Never understood why people liked this one.
This is still ongoing, the new series has 14 volumes right now
It was obviously a bad fit for Jump but it could have been really good in a different magazine.
I'm still not sure if the twist was planned all along or if Narita just said fuck it when he heard he was getting canceled.
Story was okay. Art was pretty, though. I believe the authors were Korean.
Tail Star. Im still mad about it. The character design was amazing and the story started really promising.
oh the same author did this one.
still sad this got canned so quickly.
There are too many Jump series being posted. I get the feeling some Jumpfag is trying to guide the thread into discussing them.
Why not just say in the OP you wanted to discuss axed Jump shit?
I liked Double arts a lot but if you re-read it the battles were kinda lame. It's sad because the main pair were actually training to polish their battle technique by the time it got axed.
His previous works were so fucking good, im glad he finally got some attention with Nisekoi. Even if it did turn into a shitshow. Dunno much about his new manga but it looks like pandering
Oops I just checked a new chapter came out a week ago, but the chapter before that came out a month before that.
Eitherway latest chapter is 50
Started with nice characters and all. Funny that the plot was obviously going the direction of every Goddess pilot dying sometime.
How did it even get animated is beyond explanation, the manga was quickly turning into a nonsensical mess, anyway.
At least the cat girl was cute and nice ED.
I remember they have a development about gender bending the childhood friend, which made no sense, happen all at once because of the axing. I liked the mc, even if he was generic, and the character designs
I am confused by this one, I though I read all of it, but then I saw more stuff, like a re-telling of the same story but longer (and I don't mean the one shot and the actual serialisation alone) . All around I liked the idea, though
Even after all this time I'm still mad.
Rape isn't something new to Jump
>Cancelled manga that no one remembers
>Post a bunch of shit everyone remembers
looks like it's an early work of the guy that did Mx0. glad he went with an "older shounen" (i.e. not yet seinen) magazine for his current series. kinda shame if he didn't have anything to work on.
>That crowd would've ate this shit up.
Nah, there's a dozen or so currently running series that you'd think would be popular over there, but they get zero attention because most of them are animeonlys who what shit to be handed to them.
Oh, it was cancelled? I've been looking for the new chapters just to finish it, but with no luck. Does anyone know where they are?
Also, do you remember this?
I think it was good that they at least gave it a proper ending
series shouldn't go on forever
I thought this was cute
at least the mangaka got a new series in another magazine
browsing this thread makes me realize that if anyone in japan tries to break the norm and create a non generic series they will be out of a career. How depressing I want to avoid the reality because it makes me sad.
Not a manga but it was so promising then rushed and fucking canned and i still cant put my hands on this ending
I don't know if it's cancelled but after the initial chapter and buzz over how goddamn edgy it was it completely dropped off the map
I don't know if this was cancelled or always meant to be a volume long, but I would've liked to see more of their married life.
More like only one in a hundred makes it. Right now, a successful non-generic Jump series I can think of would be The Promised Neverland, I suppose there's just too much competition and Japanese kids have shit taste and are only willing to fall back on the tried and true.
The heroine was cute. Wish he tried making his own content and stories again
I really like the girl with the flowery tail's design, shame she got insta-gibbed before she could do anything. Then again, nobody really got to do anything, it got axed before the story kicks in.
I'm so glad that author never finished the third volume and never fucked up the great story with extremely gay shit.
I'm just a huge sucker for "Hunting for lots of different distinct magic items" as a setting detail. It's basically what I was hoping for from Nanana's buried treasure but then they only actually did treasure hunting like 3-ish times and the MC couldn't seem get his morals consistent.
That felt like it might have been an anime only thing though.
I will never understand why people got so mad at this. The story showed the MC loving Hasebe no matter how she appeared to him. Making her a man worked perfectly to enforced this even more. I also doubt the author would make a gay end, had they gotten together for good.
Wanted to post this but whatever.
>I will never understand why people got so mad at this.
Because it wasn't needed to reinforce the Hasebe-loving theme, it was pretty clear already. The buttbuddies stuff made everyone extremely uncomfortable and the only reason it's here so author could write some more gay shit, but for general public. Too bad the readers weren't reading it for the buttstuff, and it was fortunately canned.
>I also doubt the author would make a gay end
It doesn't change the fact of the whole volume being pretty much the gay arc instead of 1-3 chapters like the other arcs.
U19 maked me question why Shonen Jump is a thing people want to get published in. U19 is seriously great, it has some hardcore glorification-of-youth thing going on and the shit that happens in its penultimate chapter is honest to god Genius.
But why go through all the trouble? Look at what is successful in WSJ: big heaps of nothing like Toriko; past their prime one hit wonders like Gintama, shit that makes you question wether japs have any grasp of comedy at all like Nisekoi, Boruto (self-explenatory); and detestable, reprehensable, utterly revolting GARBAGE like Black Clover.
I understand that Death Note is an inspiration to us all, but why do you want to make a quality manga and then publish it in the one manga zine that is dedicated exclusively to publishing trash?
Was this related to the square game blue dragon?
