You blind anon? We get some nice Fukami meido scenes.
Fukami maido, best
When will she finally build her god damn buzzer?
Also, nice "drawing."
>>160896877
Sounds like an edgy dude, hopefully not an insufferable faggot to his team mates though.
This is actually one of my favorite anime this season. I love all the quiz meta game stuff:
Do people do all this kind of things in real life or is it the typical shounen sports exagerration thats going on?
>>160898050
She'll build itoff-screennext episode.
>>160898302He joins his school's team just to troll MC and they spend half the tournament apologizing for his behavior.
>bullies start running away going all YABAI after getting beat up in a virtual fighting game
my sides
>>160898633
A bit of both when youre very passionate in something or did you mean the exaggeration on their part in doing expositions on the game meta and shit? I guess thats the shounen sport spirit responsibility.
>>160898682
Hopefully it will be entertaining at least or do you think we wont get that far?
>>160893116
so mean that quiz guy choose lifestyle because he tought our mc is autistic. and i mean he's not exactly wrong either
>>160898793
No, I didnt mean the exposition itself, which is clearly because this is a show about quizzing and not just them doing some quizzing.
I meant that stuff like all the super early answering, training for finding the "determining point" and all that meta level shit.
Man, I like this way more than I thought I would. Ended up catching up with the scanlations. I'm glad a group's picked it back up.
>>160898884
>super early answering, training for finding the "determining point" and all that meta level shit
Some exaggeration for sure but I dont participate in quiz bowl myself so I dont know but it seems believable to memorize enough hints to answer first. I think some threads ago there was a quiz bowl anon, he might be around later.
>>160898633
The meta stuff all seems extremely natural and feels correct based on what I've read from those who are passionate about going on game shows.
Like, find people who really get into Jeopardy. They hyper analyze how the question is phrased, how a contestant should press their buzzer (You'll often see players who hold it up and are constantly pressing it in frustration that they aren't getting in, while good players tend to hold it down and stay relaxed and loose. Here's some guy talking about it http://www.pisspoor.com/buzzer.html), and the strategy of daily double searching (usually in the 3rd or 4th value slot, however, if the category name is extremely vague or imply a trick that you might now know, it might* be better to pick the lowest value spot to find out what the category is about)
*It is most certainly not. Getting the daily double and betting a dollar because you don't know it is the second-best outcome when picking any random question. Any other player getting the daily double takes the game out of your control.
>>160899098
Something I want to point out from that website
>My thumb was on the white button, putting slight pressure on it, but not enough to actually move it
Which is a strategy the anime explicitly explains and makes use of.
>>160898884
not that anon, but i actually go to a school for people who are have an well above average intelligence. and yes our school also has a quiz team. So the stuff like super early answering does happen from time to time, but mostly because quiz teams are created of people who are good in different subjects. also there are a few "asspulls" in the anime like the dividable by three thing. where the guy just figured it out on his own in the matter of a second. even people doing shit like the math Olympics won't be able to figure such a trick out that fast on their own
>>160899268
>where the guy just figured it out on his own in the matter of a second. even people doing shit like the math Olympics won't be able to figure such a trick out that fast on their own
That was actually the only question in the entire series I managed to answer before the characters though...
>>160899401
>not getting the May thing
That was the easiest trick, feels dirty that every character thought it was amazing
>>160899401
yah but did you know about the trick or not? otherwise its more of a oh it has a nine in it so if i had to guess it was probably dividable. kind of thing
>>160899470
I sadly only got it after he presed the button.
It got obvious by him buzzing before seeing the whole word, but I honestly didnt manage to think of it before MC buzzed.
>>160899573
Yes I knew about the trick since we used to do a lot of math calculation competitions in the very first grade.
The moment I see a number and something about "divisible by 3 / 6 / etc" I just start summing up all digits by reflex.
>>160899575
didn't get it but i blame english not being my first or even second language
>>160899652
yeah it's a nice trick to know, but i can't seem to understand how this character was able to come up with this trick on his own while playing a pretty intense game where you need to answer within one hundreds of a second
>>160898793
Based on the OP, they'll cover the tournament arc. It'll probably start in two episodes and run through the rest of the season.
And he's pretty entertaining,if only because he treats it like a game instead of a super serious sport. He actually helps MC out a bit by doing that.
It's a trap then.
I'm kind of worried about the pacing for this series. I'm enjoying the ride so far, but from the massive number of characters in the OP/ED, I'm scared it'll run out of time and end up with a few last episodes of highly-compressed shit like Charlotte, or else not end in a satisfactory place.Mangafags, where do you guys think it'll end up?
mangafags tell me how relevant little sister is to this series.
Reminder not to follow strange lolis.
More otaku lingo bullshit when?
It's really a trap.
>>160901748
You've already met almost all of the characters. They're just other schools competing in the competitions, like the five school rookie tournament. The pacing is already pretty fast, but most of what's left is the tournament, so I don't think they'll need to speed up to cover it.
>>160902082
Not very. Not taking part in the tournaments or training kills her screen time.
I wanted more Mari in this cap, but well

>>160909140
after watching this i got the urge to jump in and read ahead in the manga to find out how trap-kun gets revealed. i was not disappointed. the quiz meet arc will push this series to AOTS contender status.

>>160909140
He was hoping to lose so they would have an excuse to fuck him, right?
>>160911118
It's already AOTS for me. I'm excited to know how it can get better.
>>160898633
I like that it put main emphasis on quizzes. Most of manga about doing an activity puts emphasis on character interactions instead, which is fine, but that means that it can basically be about anything so it all just blends in.
>>160898633
As a quizbowl player, I can confirm that pretty much everything in the show so far is actually practiced. "Pushing in" is particularly useful, actually. The whole thing about the question reader having a "tell" for significant words, however, isn't that big of a deal in real life (at least for me). The type of questions they're using are definitely more geared towards buzzer speed rather than precise and obscure knowledge like the type I'm familiar with, but the basic tenets still apply.
>>160917450
Even if it's a boy, is it wrong that I want to force it into sexual submission?
>>160918561
yes because she(male)is a dom
>>160916773
In that case, aren't the questions completely inaccurate? I don't know how it is in nippon, but most question writers reward real knowledge(tm) rather than fast buzzing (of course, unless you get to the end and it's just a buzzer race from there).
A new chapter of the manga has been translated!
>>160918702
They're still about trivia - it's more that the questions in the show are straightforward one-or-two-clue things which, if you know those clues, you can answer easily. From that point, it's just a game of anticipating what the clues are (especially on the parallel questions), as well as buzzer races.
The question format most popular in America right now is "pyramid questions," which are longer than the questions in this show. They start off by giving an obscure clue, and then making the answer progressively more obvious until you hit a dead giveaway at the end of the question. Thus, the people who are more familiar with the topic can buzz in on the more obscure clues, while a novice would have to wait longer into the question to be sure.
>>160919261
Yeah, that's my point. Since the question format is completely different, it would be misleading to call this show accurate, at least in terms of American QB.
Of course buzzer skills do come into play, but definitely not to this extent.
>>160916773
>The type of questions they're using are definitely more geared towards buzzer speed rather than precise and obscure knowledge
that's because MC is still learning the basics of the game. if it was up to the obscure knowledge MC would dominate but that wouldn't make much of a story if the narrative didn't explain the ins-outs of the game to the viewers/readers first.

At very first glance I didn't catch that the girl in the maid outfit in this last episode was Mari (I'm guessing cause her headband is her distinguishing trait and the themes imply a bunch of characters so I'm always expecting new ones), so I'm glad she has such a distinguishable voice. Its also just plain sexy as shit.
