And then theirs Chihiro. They not only put a great kfx in the OP of Suka Suka last season, they even used kfx on that random song in Episode 1. They even used some great fonts unlike the bland fonts UTW is using for Fate Apocrypha.

They always bothered my sense of aesthetics.
I never minded signs and other notes being heavily stylized, but not the speech itself and many subbers tried to show off as much as they could in that regard. And kfx cluttered openings even more which considering the quality of video and credits in openings/endings, dind't help that much when you wanted to actually watch it.

How is that not fucking hideous? The translated line blends with that particular background, but just looks odd on her dress. The romaji clashes with almost everything else on the screen, and the Japanese is almost illegible in those colours, even assuming you can read the script.
At least the actual karaoke is limited to recolouring the text rather than pissing about moving or morphing it.

KFX and other animated subtitles are a waste of processing power. I care more about things like properly typeset signs.
