False. cel anime should be watched at a speed factor of 1200/1001 while digital anime can range from 1.2 to 2.4 depending on the show (e.g. The Reflection is a 2.0-2.2 while Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei is a 1.2-1.4).
When in doubt, find a perfectly round object and set the speed to the highest setting that does not cause the shape to deform as it moves.

Actually 35mm cel anime should be watched at 1200/1001, true, but 16mm can easily go up to 1400/1001 or even 1500/1001 if the film is in bad shape. With another 200 boost for 8mm film.

I always watch anime at 1x, as anyone with self-respect should. I've only made an exception with Musaigen no Phantom World, what a shitshow that was.
