I never watched this because it pissed me off too much, but if it ended at the festival/when she broke a door with a bat, you don't want a season 2.

I liked the rotoscoping a bit. It's ugly as hell but it made the anime more unsettling.

You can not, and should not adapt highly atmospheric anime, with detailed art - similar to the manga. There isn't enough budget/staff to make that happen, and that isn't even going into the fact that its direction could be handled wrong.

My problem with ANH anime is that its pacing was too slow for the first 3-4 episodes. It was amazing after that.

I don't know about refreahing, but watching obviously 20-30 year old actors play middleschoolers was certainly something.
