Lucky Star here is not really able to have a thread here.

One, because it is older and there's not as many who have watched it recently. Two, even if there is the beginning of a thread with some discussion some ass rolls up and starts posting the most bizarre fanart of the show, and pushes away any discussion from those in thread and new posters from wanting to post in the thread. It's a shame.

I mean I gave them an equal rating with EoE winning it for NGE, but as a show RahXephan simply has a better written cast, better character interaction, a significantly better lead and a romance plot that I as a viewer actually care about. As for the ambigious ending etc, thats up to debate. Its not like NGE had a good ending. EoE made NGE what it is, not NGE itself.

I'm not sure where MAL scores came into this but alright. Also, you state 'better', 'better', 'better', without justifying why. RahXephon has a fine-written but forgettable cast, with their problems and storylines being somewhat banal, alongside their importance to the 'story' of Rahxephon being rendered obsolete throughout the most of the series. Additionally, you don't watch Evangelion for the 'romance'. One could question as to whether there is any real romance or love in Evangelion at all - that's what makes it particularly interesting. RahXephon has a progressive romance, but is less justified or delved-into either way. Sure, it's a 'nice romance' between two 'nice characters', but beyond that, their chemistry is forgettable, and it doesn't bring anything extremely interesting out of the characters besides some support for one-another. Which is nice and all, but you can barely compare as such to the character-dynamics in Eva. Eva did have as good of an ending as RahXephon. Additionally, both series had a movie instalment. Eva had EoE and RahXephon had some recap/re-telling movie that I never really bothered to watch. Don't get me wrong, RahXephon was an enjoyable watch, but the greatest thing I can remember of it was none of the things you mentioned. Instead, I think I really enjoyed its themes and aesthetics. Other than that, Evangelion quite clearly trumps RahXephon in practically everything else.

Of the entire show or just RahXephon (the mech)? I fully agree with the latter. That design is fucking dogshit (the other mechs look pretty decent, though). As for the former it definitely has its ups and downs, but honestly that simply is the 00s look. So many shows in that timeline look like this and adapted the "no facial details" fad for some reason.

I think it is kinda both, like a movie does its own adaptation to series and makes it their own universe, like the MCU. So it takes all the events of the original series and e.o.e and then turns it movie form by making a sequel that refers to the orignal series if it were in movie form. I'm quite insane too.
