I reread it for you, so here's what happened. After Piruluk lost that last battle with Amika, she went to talk to Mayu. Mayu explained how she got her thought control power, and then showed Piruluk that she put Remember as the LRIG of her original body, but the new girl in it trapped Remember in a box. At this point, it's not clear if Piruluk got back in Kiyoi's body immediately, or if she had to wait until Ruu fixed everything, since normally Remember's LRIG would've taken over Kiyoi's body. But essentially it ended up okay, and the time doesn't matter as much. This was all Mayu's way of making Kiyoi suffer as much as possible.

The mystery of the selector system ended with spread. Lostorage had a mystery with Kiyoi around but it was never the central theme of the series instead how both selectors were having their lifes affected by it.

All the production needs to do in order to improve Lostorage Conflated WIXOSS is just get an experiment director with a well defined style and a strong script from the Series Compositor. When it comes to background I seriously think there is no feasible way for any background studio to even top what Studio Pablo did for Selector, yet all their need to have backgrounds which converys detachment from the real world. And they must fucking get Kanon Wakeshima for the OP again.

I'm somewhat amazed that Wixoss is still chugging along and getting more and more content. But the issue is that it's all under Takara Tomy, but the staff working on the anime keep changing. At the very least I'm glad it's staying under JC Staff, but with all the staff working on it different, I would really prefer them to make a clean break in a parallel world instead of drag the same story along. If they keep on adding to the same timeline, the plot will just get clogged up and very messy, retroactively devaluing what we already have.

Which, while interesting in its own way, really changes the entire point of Wixoss. Lostorage says very early on that their Selectors literally have no choice in the matter, which is the opposite of the original. In Infected, you could just not play and suffer no consequences. In Lostorage, you're chosen and then forced to fight or risk losing everything. You either lose your precious memories, literally die as a person, or alter your own memories which could have any number of effects. It's like someone took Wixoss and made it 10x more edgy. I did very much enjoy the suicide scene though, but even that was a voluntary choice.

As it was commented in this thread, most of the people seem to agree Infected was a road coaster of emotions and mystery. But when Spread happened many of that mystery was either left to viewer's imagination or simply it's reveal didn't satisfy everyone.

When talking about Lostorage, it was really hard for the series to focus on Suzuko and Chinatsu story while at the same time trying to build up the mystery of the new selector system. Sure we had fanservice with Kiyoi, Remember and LRIG Amika/Sakaguchi but this potentials was left for Conflated to exploit it (hopefully everything will go well), but as far as franchise content, Lostorage did not add something new to what Selector's saga did.

While I agree with how you stated your post, I disagree with many who didnt like Spread. If treated and watched as just the second half of one cour, with no breaks, it feels largely the same besides the annoying Eldora selector chunni. But yes, people expected much more but personally am fine with the mystery- esspecially since it implies the system was there before and after Mayu come LOSTORAGE.

Personally I was immediately turned off from LOSTORAGE due to males, less cute designs over all, and the lack of studio Pablo/Okada. While it had its moments, your assesment rings true.
