Later on the story stopped being about OP touya and his adventures (heck he stopped being an adventurer early on in the story) and focuses more on the history of the world 5000 years ago, the alien invaders, and of course the mechas. Touya is still OP, yes, but the story doesn't really revolve around him anymore. Heck, his OPness becomes somewhat irrelevant since the BETA-like invaders are immune to magic.

I also like the world building. Every country Touya visits was unique with their own culture and history to it. Compare that to death march which couldn't be even be bothered to draw a stupid map.
