It's hard to get a voice cast like that these days. Even if I wasn't interested at all in Persona, as a huge seiyuufag I would still watch it.

I would have rather played the game first (enjoying it along Persona Stalker Club), but not having a console sucks.

Why is Persona so popular? Isn't it just a VN with bad combat in some parts?

I don't really get it but I'll watch the anime to see what its about.

It's the combination of dungeon-crawling and "life sim" elements that people cream their pants over. As individual halves, both parts are mediocre (the combat is nothing special and the life sim elements are boring and haven't been improved upon since P3). It's just that it was more accessible for normalfags than mainline SMT was.

Despite all of the hate the persona 4/3 the animation is getting, I actually really enjoyed the anime.
Too bad that golden was fucking garbage.

I found the protagonist pretty boring if anything.
In the game he was suppose to be a "insert yourself" sort of character, and that didn't really translate well with the anime.
It was just sort of dull, and boring.

Well a fun character can make a shitty series watchable or even fun, so a shitty anime with a fun protagonist can make it a fun watch at the very least.
That shouldn't be too hard considering some of jokers dialogue choices.
