From what I remember the dub actually had a better singer, though obviously the whole language aspect is kind of thrown out the window since there's no real distinction between Japanese and English

Having a Japanese voice actor who can voice a kid and sing well in both Japanese and English is asking for a ton though honestly

I thought his voice was fine. Kind of pleasant actually.

The point is with the manga you can imagine Koyuki singing with a godly voice. If you watch the anime all you have is an average singer and your suspension of disbelief.
