You're thinking of a different Sony branch. Sony Pictures has brought us such good titles as Ghostbusters (2016) and most Adam Sandler movies.
If those are anything to go by, Funimation is fast speeding towards a wall, because as soon as they fuck up organizing with them (and they will), they will axe the service because it doesn't rake in as much cash as the projected profit margin specified.
Just an armchair economist's thoughts. Though almost certainly the service quality will decrease significantly. Sony Pictures is full of idiots.
