NT18 is objectively one of the best volumes Kamachi has ever written because of how it drastically changes the outlook of the series and everything related to Aleister, Lola, and AC that came before it. Along with Kamachi actually doing his homework with Thelema and doing his best to make sense of it, there's not much to complain about, except maybe the gattai of level 5's fucking up the WB.

Other than that, it wasn't an "infodump", in any way. NT3 was an infodump.

I don't know if its ever gone there, but there was a moment on OT6 that gets close. One where Touma shits on Index's interpretation of how fun school life is by saying it is actually really boring. Kazikiri retorts back by saying that the fact that Touma finds his school life boring means the rest of his life is probably exciting.

I was never sure about the logic here, but Touma gave it a "maybe".

Othinus drove Touma into an inversion of it all. Saying he wants his everyday SoL life with Index and wishes people would leave each other alone so he could do so. If this is all true, then Touma and Mikoto aren't that different. Mikoto is just a slightly more vibrant female counterpart at best.

To be fair Kamijou being the worst character I've ever seen in anime isn't that bad compared to the overall lack of romance in the series. That's what's really holding it back in my opinion and most people won't even admit to that.
