He can't kill off "fake" heroes because it's not some genetic trait you can stamp out to be motivated by money. Doing hero stuff only for money creates problems. Given the right amount, you could bribe such a hero. What would such a hero do if the government stops paying them? Just stop saving people?
Heroes are heroes, not mercenaries nor soldiers nor salarymen.
I'm not saying they shouldn't be compensated. What I'm saying is that no one should act surprise if the hero society crumbles because of selfish reasons.
Being a "Hero" shouldn't be a profession, because it will far worse people than villains.

Condemn Stains actions all you want, he has the right idea. It's a core theme of the manga since the first chapter.

You could argue that a hero motivated by money or pride or whatever may choose not to save someone if the risk seems too great for the payoff, making them a bad hero. A "good" hero in Stain's worldview would lay down their life for anyone at any time. You could argue that people like this are the only ones that should be allowed to be heroes since they're motivated purely by something completely invaluable and would never think "this rescue just isn't worth it"

Honestly, i've been watching it this week and i don't think it's a good anime at all.

Sure, you can watch it when there is nothing to watch, but it's just that. Watchable. I think the main issues are:

1- Art style changes too much. Some characters are fucking cartoons.

2- The powers manages to be more retarded than if you go to the wiki and type to get a random power. This would be okay if it didn't fuck up with the story so much. The 'tournament' arc was ridiculous because of that; most fights took less than 5 minutes simply because one power was objectively more useful than other.

3- No love for the side characters. In Batman, even fucking Kite man got his own story.

4- And finally, i think there is an issue with the overall moral of the anime. The original idea is that the main character would "use his own strength" to become a hero. And then they give him super powers.
I just think that Making him like some sort of batman would make for a much better story, and considering how strong some people can be that was definitely a possibility in this anime. He could still get trained by not-superman (or perhaps put not-superman and his sucessor as the antagonist), or get new (or various) mentors.

Stains ideals were so flawed. His "good examples" were All Might, Deku, and Todoroki. All 3 have god tier quirks and the ability to do crazy shit no matter what. It muddles your "The good heroes can do this" point if the examples given all happen to have some of the best quirks around.

If 2 other kids in Class A showed up to help Iida for the 'right reasons', they might have still been flat out killed just by not having the abilities of Deku or Todoroki. Even if Stain wasn't going all out on them there were still multiple times both could have died or been sliced to pieces.

Murder aside(since he only did that because he tried to speak out and no one listened), it kinda makes sense if you think about the word hero and the concept that it's supposed to bring. It's not simply an occupation where you save people. It's a title for saviors, those who do what they do even though they don't have to, even though there's no ulterior motive to do so.

Stain's ideology could use more than a bit sprucing up but it's understandable that some people wouldn't be comfortable with the idea of a hero being monetized, commercialized and regulated so that you're forced to call any asshole a hero. It would've went a long way if Hori showed more corruption in the system before the Stain arc. A society like BnHA's would most definitely have people who abuse the entire hero culture and system, I just wish it were touched upon. Endeavor would've been/still is a good character to do that with, maybe show that he does even more shady stuff but pays the police off to look the other way.

The commercialization is a byproduct of All Might, All Might isn't a byproduct of commercialization. That's where Stain makes the difference. All Might literally just showed up and started saving people, he didn't make any contracts with advertisers beforehand or make sure he had a lavish office so everyone could gawk at how amazing he is or ask for X amount of compensation before he saved Y amount of people.

All Might put himself in the fire and smoke and started saving lives and reassuring people with no outward motives, he does this time and time again. He's shown repeatedly that he saves people to save people and would do so even if all the flair disappeared. Stain doesn't believe the same can be said for the rest of the society and given how it's built up you can't blame him for hating the system.

You can't make contracts with advertisers anyway unless you're already a good enough hero. See how it works. Its like how you can't get an endorsements as an athlete unless you're pretty good already. The message doesn't translate. You can't talk about commercialization of heroes and them getting merchandise without mentioning All Might. He's the only guy we constantly see merchandise of. We've seen him on talk shows as well. There's not another hero we see that side of as much All Might.

My biggest gripe is that the subtlety HxH used to command is gone all of a sudden. The writing used to be incredible in past arcs with one or two lines or an expressive panel adding huge intrigue and depth to a character such as Hisoka saying "I've never been interested in broken toys" or Chrollo explaining how Indoor Fish works with a placid smile on his face, immediately transitioning into the Requiem scene but now it's just "HUMANS ARE SO INTERESTING HEH HEH" "HOW DISAPPOINTING NOW I HAVE TO REVEAL MY FULL POWER". What the fuck is this, Bleach?

Does anyone else think Togashi isn't drawing/writing this new arc? There are clearly several discrepancies compared to previous arcs in tone, storytelling, tactics and even art, and while it doesn't seem likely that Togashi would create such poor content without suddenly becoming retarded, there are other potential explanations. Maybe he's sick of people saying he's lazy so he's putting out shitty content to silence them? It's smart because I doubt those people are able to comprehend why these recent chapters are not good.

We don't know that and even so, it's completely in the scope of the system and the motives heroes can have in this setting (and still be called heroes) to make hidden deals with advertisers and prop themselves up that way before they've actually done anything.

I think it's a narrative and world building failure by Horikoshi, many of the pieces for an even slightly corrupt society is in the framework of his setting but I admit that he did nothing with it, including Sneklady doing a single commercial. Going off on examples alone, or the lack thereof, Stain isn't even a little justified, it's why I had to argue that the system is what allows for immoral heroes and that's what makes Stain understandable.

Literally a single panel of a no name hero giving money to some police officers/men in suits or taking money from them in a back alley would've been enough to make Stain sympathetic but Hori failed here.

Or is this selective memory at work? You're acting as these kids are weak. Yeah, they lack experience and skill and would lose to any professional hero 1 on 1 but the fact remains that they're very strong in their own right and having 3 of them working together.

So yeah, he lost against three kids but claiming it's "Jobbing" is just stupid when said kids are prodigies and even one of them said that they pretty much won because Stein got mad as piss. In reality though it's also because the kids are inexperienced because either of them would've kicked Stein's ass one on one if they had more experience and skills.

The only reason Stein even had a chance of winning was because they were kids.
