How do I get into Doraemon?
Seems like a comfy series.
Start at the end and slowly work your way to the beginning.
It has no canon end so here your comfy goes. You will read/watch it and be forever afraid for your favorite monthly or whatever read to end up just like that. F U N
It's really funny, Doraemon has all these weird inventions that does a whole bunch of different shit and the result gets pretty crazy sometimes.
First you must learn to lust for cat cock. Otherwise you won't make it.

>Haven't watch the strongest anime character of all time
>author is dead and they're still milking his cash cow.
>>160533534
speaking of dead authors, I'm more than sure the Japanese govt covered up the Shin Chan creator's suicide just so the series would continue to make money.
Read the first few chapters then you can read any chapter randomly.
It's funny how this series is the grandfather of all those fan services we have. Like, Nobita literally walks into Shizuka bathing on daily basic.
>>160532658
Yotsuba will be next.
>>160532557
Don't be a murrican.
>>160533641
>implying Yotsuba won't end on the first day she leaves to start school
Azuma knows how to make things end.
>>160532557
just pick up any episode, it's very comfy, it's still broadcasted saturday's morning on local tv here, watching it while eating your breakfast will make you feel like a kid again in a good way
Shizuka is best girl in anime.
>>160532557
Japanese Garfield.
>>160533983
The best part of the series by far has always been Shizuka's feet.
Don't watch the new series, they removed all the fanservice. The rest are varying levels of good.
>>160532557
Read Doraemon Plus.
>>160532557
Buy a time machine and read it in your childhood

So does the future solve food issue with that invention? I don't think you will need to even have poultry when you can just create food from thin air.
>>160532557
I used to watch the anime when I was little, they showed it on TV. It was pretty comfy.
>>160534932
Most of Doraemon's tools are only one-time thing, don't think about it too much.
>>160535411
the only recurring tool is the "what if" telephone stand but its the idea that define the situation
>>160534932
Don't think too hard about it but if I remember correctly all the stuff from Doraemon's pocket comes from a department store so chances are the mat just takes premade food from somewhere.
I'm actually surprised this thread is civil with no "you need to be 18+ to post on 4chan" or "newfag kys" bullshit, because, honestly, if you've never watched or read Doraemon you're either very young or never watched TV back in the day
>>160534921
stupid bitch
>>160536268
>if you've never watched or read Doraemon you're either very young or never watched TV back in the day
Or, you know, it just never aired in your country.
Germany aired a lot of anime back in the 80s but Doraemon was never part of it. There's also only a handful of countries, besides Japan, where that aired.
>>160534854
These invention shouldn't be physically possible even for a future gadget. What's the logic behind it seriously.
>>160536268
That's because 90% of /a/ has never watch it.
>>160534932
only 3rd world countries nigger and arabs are starving. There was never world hunger.
>>160536268
Sounds like you're the new one if you didn't know that Doraemon never aired in English so a pretty sizeable population on this english speaking website have never watched it.
Unless you're Spanish, from SEA, or Japanese, chances are you've never saw it as a kid.

>How do I get into *any series*?
When is it not "Watch in production order"?
>>160536426
Not him but my friend when he was in elementary school had a teacher that let him borrow subbed Doraemon tapes in California. Makes me wish I had that teacher.

>>160536465
Funny you say that because the original production is lost forever.
>>160536539

>>160536416
>qt milf
Yes, please.
>>160536671
>implying the raw materials needed to make the dishes arent just highly compressed into the mat with a thin layer of 3D printing technology on the top
>>160536568
Why are the nips so fucking bad at preservation? So many shows are lost, and a huge percentage of them are only in some fucking Fuji TV vault that will never be opened. If you're "lucky", a show got a DVD release, which you'll never be able to find unless you live in Japan and buy it second hand.
>>160536426
It aired in Italy when I was small
>>160533670
But i want to see yotsuba in school
>>160533589
Well the movies are still great
>>160536416
In heartbeat
Doraemon isn't something you get into, it's something you grow up with, by not being a dirty Anglo. Half the appeal to anyone who isn't a child is the nostalgia.
>>160538164
and what about the British, who taped over most of the original Doctor Who because tape was expensive?
>>160533589
Why do you think it was a suicide?
>>160532557
>that massive cat boner
>>160534268
>>160533983
You have issues.
>>160538164
Them being lost equals them not being worth watching in many, many cases.
>>160532557
Honestly, pretty damn hard unless you're a gook/chink/etc... that got an official/unofficial translation. I think the English translation is up to chapter 200 or so last I checked, and that's less than a third of the main series, not including the spinoffs.A good portion of chapters are also lost forever, unless the publisher decide to release another Doraemon Plus-like series of previously unreleased magazine chapters
>>160532557
My first animu along side with Panman. Comfy show desu
>>160536416
>>160534807
You know you're getting older when you start noticing how cute a character's mother is. You know it when you start thinking about a character's mother as potential romantic mate.
Where can I read Doraemon in Japanese?
>>160532557
I just realized I've never watched any of the movies.
Which are the best? I've got one about a train in my backlog but I dunno if it's any good.
>>160534145
That's Umaru.
>>160541355
Does Umaru have a pipe gag?
>>160541339
If you can't get into old school animation, then start with the new movie series from 2006. All the remake are very good.
I recommend:
- Nobita's Dinosaur 2006 (2006)
The remake of the very first Doraemon movie
- Nobita's New Great Adventure into the Underworld (2007)
The one with the best plot and story telling
- Nobita and the New Steel Troops—Winged Angels (2011)
The one with the most epic battle/war
- Stand by Me Doraemon (2014)
The first 3D animation, highest grossing Doraemon movie ever.
>>160541339
Three musketeer and sun king were my favorite the last time I read them around 10 years ago. In general the first 17 of the long stories (which got adapted into movies) are comfy adventure stories, while the other 7 (which aren't written by Fujiko F. Fujio) are a bit more dramatic.
>>160541638
That explains the change of tone I felt. Honestly the ones by Not!Fujiko felt really weird, it tries way too hard with the Nakama thing and trying to make Nobita of all people like a fucking bad shounen protagonist.
>>160541339
There were all good. I'd recommend:
1) Nobita and the Castle of the Undersea
2) The Steel Troops
3) Knights on Dinosaurs
4) Tin Labyrinth
5) Three Swordsmen
6) Galaxy Super-express
7) Birth of Japan
>>160541339
I saw Birth of Doraemon the other day was nice.
>>160533670
Oh man that's making me all choked up already
>>160536268
Because it didn't air in murrica until recently.
It's a shame their first exposure to anime was either Dragon Ball or Gundam Wing.

>>160541626
>>160541638
>Nobody recommends Doraemon Gundam

Doraemon is one of the must watch / known masterpiece. Saying you dont know Doraemon is like saying you dont know about Osamu Tezuka

>>160545747
When you're a kid in the dark ages of the internet you couldn't really go looking for things. You could only absorb whatever it was on TV. Sure now it's available but there wasn't shit for anime in the US until sailor moon came out.
>>160545747
Doraemon isn't that great when you're not watching it as a kid. Stop sperging.
Doraemon and Shin-chan are like zombie Simpsons. But at least they have good movies to make up for it. Last year's Shin-chan movie was pretty good, even if the concept was odd for Shin-chan.
>>160536371
South East Asia, mostly.
also, I thought Anime started in the early 90s in Germany.
>>160546012
