Dear god - It will turn into some sort of SJW nightmare involving some ham-fisted transgender message. Instead of local government it will end up involving the "trump" white house ignoring warnings of the impending catastrophe in one timeline - it will then have him impeached in the other timeline for something else. It will only tangentially be related to the themes in the Anime.
Also, it will be a muslim boy and a white lesbian teen girl.
