If you actually go back and look at every season except for GX the main plot was not revealed in anyway even after 6 episodes.

Carol on the other hand spills the beans instantly; There was no mystery at all just half a season of monster of the week and topdad rage.

Nothing ever happens in Symphogear till the last 3 episodes. Kaneko was right this season is a slow start people just think otherwise cause of explosions.

>Maria ends her call and feels bad about worrying Tsubasa, but resolves she will do whatever it takes to stop the people behind the scenes. She remembers how Nastassja worked to change the world for the better, and refuses to let her sacrifice be in vain. She returns to the subway to continue her search, however it’s too dark for her to see very well and using a light would give away her presence. She feels around for damage caused by the Alca-NOISE to confirm her position. She discovers a hidden door that explains the robed man’s disappearance. She proceeds and discovers a lighted area, despite her caution she runs into Alca-NOISE again and this time they attack before she can sing her activation chant. She makes a hasty retreat. Suddenly Tsubasa hails her on the radio, they have her location and are coming in for backup. The robed man appears, he recognizes her as the pop artist Maria and laughs at the fact she has become the dog of SONG.

This episode was the one that Kaneko felt that needed the most fixing. Does that mean the ride will smooth out again or is it a warning for things to come? Also this episode had the worst quality so far right?

That'd work out about as well as Code Geass without Lelouch, Raiden hijacking MGS2, or Nanoha writers seeming determined to force the end of the Nanoha and Fate era.

If writers are going to change protagonists, they should absolutely make sure that the old protagonist's story has ran its course to the fan's satisfaction first, or that the protagonist isn't sitting at the center of the franchise's appeal. Otherwise, fans will feel indifferent at best and betrayed at worst.

They should if they're hoping to sell CDs.

Just because a product is red hot doesn't provide any guarantee that it'll stay that way. Even full blown sustained cultural phenomenon status only guarantees that they'll be able to keep the franchise in a zombie state for a few years until the momentum and the money finally runs out. Shows don't gain or maintain an audience (you know, where the money comes from) by catering to suits at the expense of the show's appeal, and sacrificing a proven commodity for short term profits is foolish.

The staffs obsession with giving every character even moments is killing the show. It doesn't have to be Hibiki everytime but they gotta do something exciting that isn't just killing fodder. Someone has to be different too bad they killed off said only difference in G.

I personally think the worst dedicated episode and problem was Tsubasa's.
She technically fixed the sword issue back in s1 and seriously the Phara fight made no sense, I know the main part was her getting accepted by her "dad", but don't include the sword issue.

Bikki's one makes no sense either, but I really can't blame her since I saw it more as a forced self-delusion just for the sake of pretending Top Dad is good and finding an excuse to forgive him. Like, not even Bikki believes that absolute bullshit, but hey better than suffering so let's just pretend everything is fine now and give him a chance.

Maria's on the same line as Hibiki's, even though it falls more on the comical side, specially with Garie's reaction.

Chris still follows the "everything is my fault" mentality she had in G which is kinda lame, but I guess you can throw in the fact she's trying to hard to be like Tsubasa to protect DMJii.
On another note, I'm worried for her in AXZ since so far she has the worst redflag because of that. Hopefully she will just sing Utazukin to Stefan and Stefania fucks off forever.

DMJii had a power complex which to be honest is the one who made more sense and felt less forced, so I can't say anything bad about the two.
They have a power complex in AXZ again though, so Elf9 and Maria better get that Linker formula asap.

I think that's the character arc that made the most sense. She got over the sword autism in S1 but never dealt with her family's expectation of her, so when she met her father she regressed into swordmode because she had no idea of how else to approach him.
The Phara fight was retarded and the conclusion was rushed, but I think the idea behind it was good.
