It's asinine, but not surprising. Nips have terrible taste, and /a/ is only slightly better.

I'm fine with traps if the author will actually treat them as a serious romance and not a meme. Unfortunately it is virtually always a meme. They're just added for the lame joke of "I want to fuck them but that's gay! oh no!." The only 2 manga where I can remember them doing more than that is in something with Adam in the title, I forget the full name and Itokoi no Chidori which was basically just porn. If a harem actually had the balls to make the trap a real love interest it would be fine, even though I'm personally not interested in that, I'm just sick of the bad jokes.
