This isn't just your typical shonen, it's all the dumb stereotypes of what a typical shonen is rolled into one show. Basically a shonen done wrong.

If you want some good battle shonen, read Hunter X Hunter, Saike Matashitemo and Boku no Hero Academia.

It's awful. It's Fairy Tail v2.

Although the recent chapters have been a bit more palatable. Asta isn't entirely insufferable. Like 95% of what he used to be.

It's probably one of the most generic shonen I've ever read.
I still enjoy it though.

It's completely generic but fun, idk why. Asta consistently mildly subverts expectations and I enjoy it.
